The bottom corner of our garden (approx 2mx2m) is crappy so I've decided to build mini tree house / elevated playhouse come fort for our son. Please post some pictures of what you've built as inspiration and what was really popular / successful and what wasn't worth the effort? Thanks.

I built this from scratch in a day, from timber bought cheap as it was in the sale. Me and a mate stood with proverbial envelope and pencil in hand at builders merchant and sketched/ guessed quantities. Cost about £220, but at least a quarter of that was fixings, and I had some holds already that were free from a mate.

The space below had two seats. The 'top' layer to the slide had a ladder as well as climbing wall. It had a rope swing sticking out on a beam. The kids rapidly realised that the fence plus ladder = roof access...

I based Jr's gaff around a 9" square, 9' treated gate post

SLide was £100 from grandma, and the swing set another £80ish IIRC.

Now in front of a PC, so a pic of the one I built for my daughter. was bought by my parents for her (I'll need to check where it came from). TBH I wanted to design and build myself, but I was vetoed, so went with the beta male option of just building it....

I just made it up as I went along after having a look at a few photo's on google. There's the swing, slide, and climbing wall a little fold down seat down stairs and the floor lifts up for a sand pit and little ball pool. Oh and there's an addition of a black board since the photo's too. My lad loves it, it was done for his first birthday (20 months now) so much of it was a bit early, especially the climbing wall, which has only been used by me really so far, but he'll grow into it 😉

Thanks all, they look great. What internal height(s) have you gone for? I don't want it to be too tall, but I also don't want it to be grown out of too quickly!
