We have an old treadmill in the garage and it gets moderate use - short runs from the house involve lots of road crossings / along side busy roads so tend to be a bit crap.
On my short run last night it was squeaking more than usual and quite a bit more bouncy. A quick inspection showed that the deck has cracked right the way though.
The deck is 18mm(ish) thick ply with a super slick coating for the non slip on both sides.
Has anyone made a new deck out of a bit of B&Q type ply / what would be a good coating for low friction topcoat?
No but some low friction tape and 18mm ply sounds ideal
Bit of a long shot but we've got a treadmill with a controller fault, think its mechanically sound. Free to a good home if you wanted to cannibalise for bits? We're in Malvern if this is of any use!
18mm ply should be fine, But as it's a treadmill you'll want to run a plane down it to make sure it's level. :o)
