heading to France on Friday night for 2 weeks, can someone check I'm not going mad?
Before I go;
- Double jabbed - tick
- Statement of Honour (soon to be ticked)
When I get there;
- Antigen or bio test on arrival (is this for non-vaccinated only, or for all??)
Before I leave;
- Rapid Antigen Travel Test 72 hours in advance (eg. pre-purchased for ease from https://www.c19testing.co.uk/ or from a pharmacy)
- Passenger Locator Form
When I get home
- Day 2 PCR Test (from https://www.c19testing.co.uk/ for eg)
Does that sound correct? The 'getting a test when I get to France' bit is the main thing I'm not 100% on - https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/Actualites/L-actu-du-Ministere/Certificate-of-international-travel - section 2.2 feels slightly ambiguous as to whether 'You will also need to present' refers to all, or unvaccinated people.
You have got it right. It's not much of a hassle if you have the paperwork.
Make sure you have the proper covid passport, the little card you were given when you were vaccinated will not do.

I’m on my second day in France. Girlfriend is in charge of this stuff and tells me we don’t need to do this. No one has rung us to tell us we are in violation of anything. Edit: We are fully vaccinated
One tip is to download the TousAntiCovid App to show you are fully vaccinated. Almost every place we’ve been to had asked for proof of vaccination and this is the app they use. It recognises the NHS QR code etc and just makes life easier when going into a shop, cafe, restaurant etc…
You'll need the order reference number from your Day 2 test, to fill in the UK PLF. So make sure you have it ordered in plenty time.
You shouldn't need to produce the UK PLF on return, as it's tied to your passport, and border control will see it when they scan your passport.
Thanks all, appreciate your reassurance! Got the French app, Covid tests purchased, forms will be filled in tomorrow 🙌🙌🙌🙂
What on earth is a Statement Of Honour?
I didn’t need such a thing the last time I was in France. Granted it was 2007, we were still in the EU then…
When I get there;
– Antigen or bio test on arrival (is this for non-vaccinated only, or for all??)
As stated not needed if double jabbed plus time for the second jab to take effect.
(Last month anyway)
What on earth is a Statement Of Honour?
Covid related thing. Basically saying you don’t have Covid to the best of your knowledge and do your best to social distance west face mask etc to help stop the spread.
Without the French app you'll have trouble eating/buying food to self-cater.

Not my experience, I just showed my 2nd vacc qr code from my NHS app no prob and that was just in places where you sat down to eat/drink?
– Passenger Locator Form
Couple in front of me at Bilbao Airport were really struggling to understand what they needed to get back into the UK. They'd managed to get tested before leaving Spain, but hadn't arranged tests on return and hadn't heard of the Passenger Locator Form and were in a right state. I helped as much as I could to fill it out fort hem on a smart phone in the queue to check in, but if their experience of it is common, I'll bet lots of folks are failing to get all this stuff sorted out.
