Evening, booked to travel home in July and currently trying to unpick the pet requirements post Brexit 🙁 - anyone travelled since January with a dog by ferry?
Mixed messages - some indication needs worming, rabies shot and health cert but https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/articles/travelling-pets states no checks until at least October. Not sure what score is, and if can avoid some of it if possible we would like to.
Cheers, Niall
(Obviously going speak with our own vets Monday but you guys know everything so thought would ask)

No idea about NI rules but if you plan on travelling with pet much it's worth switching them to a euro passport to avoid having to shell out over £100 for a health cert each time. You'll just have to get the rabies done by a euro vet each time it's due.

I am about to do the same but to eire.
So can I get the rabies shot here and get the UK paperwork and when it comes time to get the booster get it in eire, I go over a lot, and an eu pet passport at the same time?

Didn't think we can get a euro one now as we a category 2 country? So still need the health clearance each time 🙄
We will be going both North and South so will explore more.

Outline here:

Remember there are enforceable rules on travelling with pets between NI and Ireland as well.

Stevie get an eu passport in Ireland and make sure all entries for rabies are by an eu vet not uk or it will be invalidated. Obviously you'll have to follow the health cert rules to get over there the 1st time. I spend lots of time in Portugal and Spain and take the dog each time so we got her a Portuguese passport when there last. Vet transferred her rabies jab details but some may insist on doing a new jab.
