Anyone spec me a good one? For general course fishing. Currently have a float rod which I use on my local (five minutes walk) or the canal in front of my house.

I'm looking for something that will fit in a top box on my motorbike to go to different venues in the next town or further afield.

Any recommendations.

Have a look at the Shimano range of telescopic rods (Exage/Cantana/Vengance)

They do various lengths, weights etc and I have to say the one I take on holiday for a bit of sea fishing is really rather good

I have an ancient Shakespeare 9' telescopic spinning rod which has been excellent. That model is no longer made sadly but I also use shaky fly rods and find them good as well.

They all seem to be spinning rods. I have absolutely no idea what spin fishing is. Although I'm willing to learn.

Most telescopic rods will be for spinning but could be used for general fishing.

I have just bought an 8 foot Leeda telescopic rod seems ok and very compact. Only 15 quid so took a punt, seems reasonable quality but not used it yet.nice Matt black finish with silver rings so not too gaudy

spinning is using a small, lure or spinner to catch fish ,you cast out and and wind back in , and hopefully the fish takes the spinner or lure, normally used for pike or perch ,

can you not use a normal 2 peice rod and strap it along the bike

I have seen travel rods which break down into multiple pieces. Can't really strap it down well on the side as its all curvy on the bodywork.

Have seen  a few but still clueless. Only fishing I know at the moment is float fishing.

My local is Rishton Reservoir, my old local newrad Darwen and looking to ride to this one
