We're going to Mallorca, I'm taking my road bike and my wife will be 24wks pregnant (non cycling). What do we need to know while buying travel insurance? I've had a quick look and pregnancy isn't (obviously) listed as a pre existing medical condition, does it need to be declared? I've previously been to the Alps with the DH bike where I've used extreme sports cover, but this will just be road group cycling so will it be covered by normal insurance? Are we better off with joint insurance to cover both or seperate to cover each? Please recommend suitable insurers. Thanks.
I can't comment on your specifics, but I found these good in the past for MTB http://www.columbusdirect.com . maybe call them and they could advise on your issues..
Depending on how the company works, it might be cheaper to go with two separate policys
Normal pregnancy isn't a medical condition, obviously check the policy but generally no bother. For some airlines you need a docs / midwife letter though. You should be OK just to pick the cheapest policy from a reputable company off a comparison site. Specialist sports cover would be an overkill.
I've just used columbusdirect as recommended above, albeit for totally different holiday. If you do use them, code RT20 should still give you 20% off 🙂
