Has just been on 6music. All the men in our workshop of a certain age now have an ear to ear grin.

Wendy James.
That is all 🙂

Nah too blatantly trying to appeal to young men who wanted to engage in hand to gland combat. Much preferred the primitives, darling buds and curve for decent female fronted indie

I saw them live in Trefforest around 91/92.
She looked stunning but her voice was not so fantastic live.

91/2? I think the voice was probably impacted by the mahoosive cocaine habit by then. Allegedly.

The other bands had better looking singers as well then. Too blatant is just boring.

I saw them at Rock City in the mid 80s. She was wearing a teddy. It was great.

I was about 15/16 years old at the time , at that age I didn't give a hoot about blatant 😀

Still have both albums somewhere .

I dug Velveteen out last week for a listen. I love it. And Wendy James is a 'sticky' at the top of the all time favourites list along with Kylie and Patsy Kensit. 😉

That should date the year I achieved puberty quite accurately! 🙂

My first ever stirrings, used to stare at a picture of her, not knowing exactly what it all meant but knowing it was important.

Aye, cracking looking woman. I saw her in the Adelphi in Liverpool once.
Massive big bodyguard right behind her.

I used to have a near life size poster of Wendy when I was 14, sadly there's only so many times you can wipe these things down.

I seem to remember an early 90s appearance on the beeb kids Saturday morning tv show. They were sat down for the phone-in. Wendy James front centre in a skirt that would be described as a 'greyhound' I believe.

Anyway, don't know how the subject of underwear was raised, but she announced she wasn't wearing any. In my book, that was better than the more famous expletive-filled rant at Five Star.

Could it be she's uniformly accepted by all as one of the best looking women ever?
Because that's what I'm hearing here.
