Slightly inspired by the camping beds thread. We have a trip planned in a hired transporter in May, we’ve had one before and memory of the beds is they were rock hard. So was thinking of getting something to go on top for a tad more comfort. I wondered if others do the same, and what people use if so - I wondered about a couple of alpkit dozers (which we could also then use in the tent).
We use https://www.duvalay.co.uk/ in ours. Bit pricy if you are only hiring! If you have camping beds I would use them. Transporter beds are pretty stand 112, 120, 130, 150 width. If you know what it is in the hire van it would help?
I'd suggest a double blow up thermarest type thing from go outdoors
Vango 10cm California self inflating mattress. Absolute game changer for kipping in the van. Designed to be a perfect fit on a traditional transporter bed.

Saves faffing with a sheet. Unless you don't want to sleep on a sheet. Except you do want to sleep on a sheet or else you'd be in a tent or something
I use an alpkit double dozer on the few occasions I've ended up in the van. Makes for a much better bed than the crap futon VW supply themselves.

We have a "Outdoor Revolution Camp Star Top of the Pop 50mm" upstairs. I sleep on the rock and roll bed downstairs and you're right it isn't exactly soft.
