Bit of a strange one!
Changed my mobile provider for a new 5G esim and transferred my old number.
All is fine for voice calls but for some reason the text messages show as the new provider originally issued number?
I've never heard of this before? I've tried a restart etc. switched esim off and back on. No success.
Anyone had this before?
It's Lycamobile and their support is not always the best, so not holding out much hope.
Check the APN settings?
Is this an iPhone by any chance?
If you've used a PAC code to port your number over it can take a while for it to move over completely. I've had this a number of times on multiple occasions, basically I just used two phones for a day and by the following day it was sorted.
Oh wait, you mean that the recipient is seeing the wrong number on texts?
Android? I've had the same before when changing providers.
Goto messages, then message settings. Then goto advanced and check (and change if needed) the phone number.Â

Well it's a problem with the RCS messaging.
If I turn it off it's fine but if I turn it on it verifies the number as the original one, not the transferred one.
Can't get the RCS to recognise the correct number.

Mine did exactly this. Unfortunately I can't remember the fix. I initially just turned off RCS which worked. Did eventually find where the wrong number was saved and deleted it. I think it was somewhere in my google account settings
