Anyone watching? Didn’t see the first series but I thought I‘d give it a go. Basically a wink murder game so I’m surprised that it hasn’t been done before. Quite enjoyed episode one, although I thought that one of the traitors is really obvious & I’d probably suspect the 2nd one. Interested to see how it goes.

The ginger guy is an idiot.

Enjoyed the first series.... Yet to be convinced about this one.

I think it'd be interesting if they did an iplayer edit where the traitors weren't revealed, so the viewer gets to find out as the game unfolds.

I'm watching it cos of all the fuss about the first series and I wanted some garbage to watch

I found myself watching second episode last night straight after first. I don't want to spoil the first banishment but the way they pile on was disturbing:)

Presumably it gets really tense as the numbers diminish

you only think that because you know who they are though 😂 If you were in the game, you wouldn't have a clue, like everyone else!

that's an idea, you wouldn't find out till the end though, don't think I could take the tension 🤣

I'm actually quite surprised they're doing it again, some of the players last time looked genuinely traumatised by the end. Then again, maybe what's why they're making a second season... 😬

IMO it's great telly... I never bother with Celebrity, BB, any of those types of shows, but this is different. Really fascinating to watch the interactions, especially when they turn on each other (& doubly so when they're wrong!)

Fwiw the ozzy one on iplayer is an entertaining watch too - not watched the USA one, mainly because I'm guessing it's been ruined in the same way as US versions of other shows.

The traitors are doing well so far. Their choice of fellow traitor was pretty inspired: I know these things are edited, but you can see why Sonia was banished, she really made herself a target. It’s fascinating how people are reacting under pressure & just bonkers how they are basing their decisions on whether or not they like somebody. Diane is a nutcase.

that’s funny - we’ve just watched the first episode and I said exactly the same thing.

I've accidentally been watching season 1, thinking it was season 2. iPlayer confused me and then locked me in. I'll watch it now as I'm invested then onto season2. Lots of my precious spare time on reality gubbins now though. Lucky it's January

I said a second series would be rubbish, repetitive, predictable.

I'm now addicted and annoyed at the 4 day gap until the next episode.

Paul's getting a bit smug and cocky, although I liked when he and the dangly earring guy turned on their fellow traitor at the round table in episode 3.

Paul just assuming he'd be given a shield as he was so popular was peak hubris and almost backfired

Quite revealing how people cannot separate their feelings about personality from the evidence around them. Witness Dianne’s downer on Anthony for impressions pre selection of traitors. The Faithful start out relaxed, gradually letting their real personality show - warts & all - for which they are judged. The traitors are constantly on best behaviour. If the faithful actually thought how they would have to act to fool the faithful they would find it a lot easier. Harry gave himself away immediately before even the blindfolds were removed, but quickly became perceived as ‘nice’ and has never received a vote. I cannot fathom how Paul gets away with it - the bloke oozes insincerity. Jas sees right through him but has realised he will only put a target on his back from the other faithful if he tries to persuade them further. Anthony and Zack, on the other hand, would have to be the worst traitors ever - they are ‘private’ but hide nothing. Miles has been an inspired choice by the original 3, but I think he’s really going to be exposed by the in-person murder.

I wonder if the producers select people who make emotionally based decisions because these people are certainly doing that. They just don’t seem to think rationally & then can’t work out why they are struggling. Paul clearly can’t come across to the others in the way he does to us on TV because he seems so smug & fake that he shouldn’t stand a chance. I just can’t believe  the reaction to the dungeon episode: having decided that if Meg walked through the door (as she was bound to 😖) they would know she was a traitor, but when Paul did, apparently the same didn’t apply. It can be a really frustrating watch.

So, like a fool, I started watching the USA version. Alan Cumming hams it up massively with a ridiculous accent, the contestants are a mix of ordinary people and "celebrities" from other reality TV shows who all seem to think they'll be brilliant... but aren't. But then after a few murders and banishments there's a bit of a meltdown which I'm finding quite entertaining in a schadenfreude kinda way, not sure how that'll pan out.

MrsRNP is watching it, I looked up from my iPad at the mention of trebuchet to notice one of the female participants had a rather large pair of trebuchet boulders. The back stabbing, sniping and politics of the program then restarted and it felt like being at work so I tuned out again

My bet for next banishment is Miles. He’s not had a vote against yet or even been mentioned, but it will only take one faithful to notice his behaviour around the in-person murder and I am sure Paul and Harry will have him on the slate.

Discussing with the wife, she believes that if all traitors were rumbled - unlikely, but the in-person murder could be a turning point - then a new traitor would be selected, but I am not sure that would be necessary. Tell the remainder faithful that there will be no murder, but there will be a double banishment, and I think they will eat themselves alive. Partly because they have shown no real capacity for anything other than emotional response, but also because I think human nature and greed will kick in, particularly as the numbers get fewer and tension ratchets up. That does involve a particular kind of nastiness, however. At the moment they are playing the game, and the traitors have been chosen within the rules. What if the participants are left to their own devices? Will they keep going until they think their share of the pot is too much to gamble further?

she believes that if all traitors were rumbled

In previous versions, when they banished traitors the remaining traitors got to invite another contestant to join them. I think they only stopped that when they were down to the last 8 or 9 remaining.

Everyone, except Jaz, have no idea!!

If Jaz survives to the final, he will get Paul and Harry. It's the other traitor, cannot remember his name, I'm unsure about at the moment.

Better for Jaz to just vote for others at the minute to keep the traitors off him.

I do wonder if someone scoped them huddled together in the library looking shifty. Hopefully Paul gets tarnished with extra sussness behaviour as he is getting a bit smug but the chat with Jas has just, I think, left Jas in no doubt about Paul being a traitor.

Mrs Zip has taken to watching this.
5 minutes of running around then the rest of the programme people moaning about each other and being sad.
I have to leave the room and watch people riding bikes on you tube.

Yeah, could have just made it 100 grand prize, got rid of the daft challenges,  and stuck to the evictions and murders bits.

Yep, Mollie was a complete mug who couldn't think for herself.

Why would Jaz have voted to keep banishing a second time if he was a traitor. He'd want the game ended unless two traitors were left.

Andrew shouldn't have gone all in against harry, that was destined to fail, siding with him was the only way for him to get any of the winnings.
Mollie was too infatuated with Harry. She only stayed that long as she was a threat to noone.
Jaz just wasn't persuasive enough to get the rest to target the traitors.
Harry played a good game.

But Jaz proving he wasn’t a traitor isn’t proof that Harry was. She thought she was being made to choose between two faithfuls and she had to vote for someone.

****ing awful program - lies and deceit for money (MrsRNP watches it). I felt sorry for Molly.

The word 'game' was repeated numerous times in the post interview show - ie it's okay to destroy that girls trust for the rest of her life because it's only a game.

She looked like she was going to puke. I watched the after show last night, she’s Ok with it and laughs at it. So don’t worry the game she took part in and enjoyed. She was just young inexperienced in life. Harry played the game extremely well, his body language gave it away a few times during the show but I was seemed to be missed.

Well, I enjoyed it. A bit more ‘reality tv’ than I was expecting. I think I was anticipating a sort of Cluedo/Agatha Christie vibe. But it was fascinating seeing how much people made decisions based on emotion rather than logic, how many potential clues were ignored & how much they equated being a traitor with being a difficult/unlikeable personality. Even right at the end Mollie still let her feelings for Harry overcome any attempt to reason out the situation. A bit of a cautionary tale for all of us. Great TV.

A lot of the players stated they were basing their decision on fact when it was opinion at most.
I reckon they must have some counselling on hand for the final contestants after a couple of weeks where you can trust no one.

Will they **** as like. The contestants/Molly will be bundled in a taxi as soon as the program/filming is over. Awful damaging program.

RustyNP has it right; it's endemol and they have a track record for making telly that treats people like sh1t. I personally don't think that the guy who won it was this genius, I think they've built an editorial narrative.

I didn't watch the show but I'm getting a Golden Balls nastiness vibe?

Anyone want their faith in humanity restored and see how to game the game show itself...

This is how it's done:

If you watch any of the interviews with the contestants over the past day or so they all appear to be pretty happy with what went on.

Just shotgunned both series with the family. My main take away was that there's an abundance of people out there who would, if given  the right encouragement, gleefully march me into a gas chamber and feel completely justified in doing so.

Still, good telly if you see it for the confection it is and accept all the usual reality TV cutting room practices (the "success" in some of the tasks looked like it owed a lot to the magic of television).

The idea of a version where you don't see who the traitors are also occurred to me, but I think it would ruin the show's best joke, i.e. the sight of someone utterly convinced by their own reasoning who you know to be completely wrong.

Preferred the outcome of Series 2: best player won, as opposed to a gaggle of weaker players surviving ("two half-wits and a gobshite" as a pal rather uncharitably put it).
