For years i've been wearing Innov8 terroc 330's for pretty much everything. Work, running, gym, hill, river swimming, canoeing, the lot. They are a bit flexy for the bike but they dry quickly when I ford a stream and I can happily cycle 30miles plus in them, i'm not racing after all.
Ive been searching since innov8 'improved' their shoes and I think I might have just bought the last pair on the internet but its taken an age to find them, and what happens when I kill these?
What is their successor, any ideas?

I used to use Innov8 trainers a lot. Then I had trouble sourcing them and went over to buying trainers from the Nike free run series and found them to be much better on all fronts.

The Inov-8 rep I spoke to said the Terroc shoe didn't really fit with their fast & light running range (similar issue with the excellent Roclite boots). Closest you'll get from Inov-8 are probably Roclite 295, but they're a fair bit lighter & more tread.

Possibly have a look at something like la sportiva wildcat? Or maybe some of the Trail type Asics shoes in Sports Direct?

1 pair of shoes for everything?

You are clearly a man.

I on the other hand have far too many shoes.

As a matter of fact the first pair of terrocs I got was when the Mrs sent me out to get something suitable for a wedding. She wasn't pleased.

Some good ideas there all, ive just ordered some more mile cheviots to audition but the search continues. Most of the likelies fall down with the work thing, the terrocs look just enough like approach shoes (see love- shoes) to wear to a meeting.

The problem with a lot of new trail shoes is the colour schemes might not be suitable for all you want.

As it goes, I am Just trying out some at the moment. They are quite bright.

...I would recommend the Roclite 295/315. Fairly subdued, and very very comfy.

Salomon Speedcross 3s do come in some restrained colours.

The salomons look like trainers tho, I kid myself that people look at my feet in the terrocs and see an approach shoe, plus iv'e never got on with the salomon last, plus how much trail running do you do theres a decades worth of shoes there 🙂

Oh, I won't be keeping them all. I usally run in X-Talon 212s, but fancied trying something else for when the weather gets a bit dryer, so ordered a load to try round the house for fit and whatnot, then send back those I don't want.

The beauty of free returns.

Annoyingly, I will probably just buy another pair of X-Talons and continue to use them for everything as they are awesome. As none of the ones I have tried really grabbed me.

The X-Talons are probably not suitable for work.

x talons are great although the front black bit is coming away on mine.
need to find something similar for summer trail/road runs as the xtalon is overkill for that.

I'm in the camp of having lots of different shoes for lots of different activities

And seeing as I have lots of hobbies I have lots of shoes. I have 2 pairs of SPD shoes and 1 pair of Teva Links, these 3 pairs are only work for cycling! Then have walking boots, trail runners, approach shoes, goretex lined approach shoes, more mesh like trail runners. And on!

I just bought some 5.10 Domes from Needle Sports in the sale, been quite pleased with them so far

Have a pair of all black Speedcross 2s, good shoes. Not a fan of brightly coloured shoes in general

I doff my cap to you Sir. I thought my wife was obsessed with trainers, but you are on a different level (even with free returns).
