Going on a 70-80 miles road ride this weekend with someone who is diabetic (controlled by diet only).
This will be the furthest he's ridden in a long while so want to keep him ticking over and well fed.
Normally i'd leave it to the rider, it's none of my business but, this particular chap has controlled it thanks to his Mrs. When i asked him what food he'll bring was met with 'not a clue'.
Will be a slow 12-14mph pace so a fair ride in the saddle.
Any suggestions for snacks i can stow?
There's no need for there to be difference between 'trail food' and 'food'. What would he normally eat for, say, lunch? or as an afternoon/morning snack? Tell him to bring that.
That goes for non-diabetics too of course.
some jelly babies / other glucose in cash he drops his sugar levels - otherwise simply "food" will do
I find them hard to catch and rather chewy anyway.
Fair enough, cheers guys.
