My own Nuffield DM4 is coming along nicely, the "What Tyres for Thread" becomes pretty limited by budget at the cheapest rear tyre being £250!!!

Not sure tbh but one of the great things about the Field Marshall was that you could start it by cranking a starting handle or use a shot-gun type cartridge that you fitted into a breech assembly then hit the firing pin with a hammer. 🙂

Trekster- where did you find the deutz with the Bryce post rammer?
On the banks of the River Nith, Dumfries. There is a walk/path from Kingholm Quay to Glencaple, both old ports. They are replacing very old fencing which has suffered yrs of flood damage.

The double wheels are required to overcome the boggy ground, signs are that it has nearly got stuck a few times and some interesting lines taken to avoid/get around various obstacles/creeks!

Could have a look tomorrow, it is a fairly long length of fencing to replace.

Here's a lovely Nuffield Universal I found by the roadside near Grantham today! its older than my Nuffield DM4 I reckon and it looks like its a petrol or Petrol/TVO model. Uncut Axles as well,(mine have been gassed off which saves a lot of gate posts but doesn't look as original)It also has a genuine Nuffield front weight which my friend has one of sitting on his Fordson but won't let me have!

Tractorists! So then thinking of getting an old tractor for a bit of work towing wood trailer up and down hill. Recommend something cheapish and simple. LOve the look of MF35's but they seem to be getting a bit pricey.

I didn't take many pictures but 2 weeks ago we partook in the national steam plough championships, you are now in the midst of a champion ploughman! 🙂

We had a total of 22 steam engines ploughing our farm were pulling them around the place with our Allis Chalmers crawlers.

No, I'm not going to ride them all. I'm in Australia at the moment for the 24hr World Champs, so will have to miss a few. It's a tough old life. I will be back at the end of the month, might do the one at Woodhall as I'm told that will be a good course. I like the ones in the trees, but 16 laps of a playing field doesn't really appeal to me.
Will you be doing many of them? I might watch and cheer at a few more. Come and say hi if you spot me (I will be in the Sleaford Wheelers kit, with a beard and orange helmet. Just ask for Crasher...)
