Toyota Corolla Touring Sport / Suzuki Swace quality issues?

I've been thinking about a Suzuki Swace or Toyota Corolla Touring Sport as a potential replacement for my 308 diesel auto.  On the ad for one car I looked at I noticed the paint finish was poor near the reversing camera, it looked like some paint had chipped away near the top of the camera housing.  The car is less than a year old so wasn't expecting paint issues, I hope to keep my next car for 8 or 10 years so this is a worry.  I then googled for paint issues and found reports of rust around tailgate hinges and where people get stone chips.  I have no sign of any paint or rust issues on my 9 year old, infrequently washed Peugeot so wasn't expecting anything on a new car.

I know that if you google something you'll find negative comments but I'm wondering if paint quality and rust is an issue on these cars or whether these are isolated incidents?  Any Corolla  or Swace owners I'd be interested in knowing your experiences with the car, if you find them noisy and generally whether you like them.

Peugeot gslvavize their cars so you won’t have had rust issues. Maybe check toyota / Suzuki do to. Chips will obviously rust if they don’t, but that wouldn’t explain paint peeling
