I'm looking to hire a pair of touring boots for a day or 2 this weekend - any recommendations for hire places in Aviemore? I've got a loan of the rest of the kit, just need to sort out some boots.

Ellis Brigham or the Pine Marten bar place at Glenmore (next to the campsite).
Glenmore Lodge may also be an option.

Mountain Spirit (now up by the mini-roundabout heading north) and Cairngorm Mountain sports are both good. Glenmore for XC kit. Conditions were pretty good at the weekend (with sensible route finding of course).

Neither of these hire touring boots. Bajsyckle is right.

Mountain Spirit certainly have touring kit for hire. From what I remember, Cairngorm Mountain Sports didn't but their partner store in Braemar did. That might have changed.

Utterly shambolic in my experience but I know I'm in the minority there!
