Are any other local STWers heading to Holyrood for the TOB stage finish on Saturday?
Weather looks good.
The race goes almost past my house however I am planning to ride into the city for the finish.
I'm on the uplift at Inners right now and we're stopping for lunch as the race is coming right past us so will wander over to the road and see them fly past
I saw their vehicles parked up yesterday just north of Newcastle. Lovely vans. One even had a washing machine in it. Ineos guys. Also a weird contraption strapped on the car which looked like a metal detector but wasn't. Antenna but a disc, attached to what looked like a crutch? maybe or for reading RFIDs? No idea.
How do they do 100+ miles in a day, for several days, without dying????
Heading up to the Cairn O'Mount the morra to watch them gurn sprint to the top ,hope the weather holds off. 🙂

That's the easy bit. It's doing at at speed that's difficult!
Great shot of the youngster on blue bike "racing" along the pavement...and getting a reward:)
Cvilla,
The JV rider passing the bottle to the young lad at Lasswade got a cheer from the crowd gathered at the finish.
I ride that hill on the way to work, slowly.
Great atmosphere at the finish, good to see the breakaway keep clear and well done to Matt Gibson.
Came through my village, Stow, at lunchtime. Watched them on the climb up to Lauder. By the time we had stood chatting for a bit and then went to my mates house to see them on the telly they had already passed Duns, that is shifting!
I'm expecting quite a few local KOMs to change hands
Was on the top of the first hill out of Hawick. I went up in 40mins they took 20 (mind I stopped for a pee).
I was heartened to see a few of them pulling faces over the to almost like they were working.
Was there an abandon? One bloke right back in the traffic did not look like he was having a good day.
Anyone else drag their arse up the Cairn O'Mount today? The steep corner was a brilliant spot and the crowd were giving it max, great fun and 90mile round trip into the bargain 🙂
We did. Rude not to when it's 10 miles from the house.

Got up the north side of cairn with the trailer on in good time for the riders coming through (I have Jnr on my shoulders in the photo)
Then we bombed back down - raising a few eyebrows as the bike /trailer combo reached terminal velocity and got to the beach for the finish.
Tuning in for highlights now
Nice one ,I thought the crowds were great, glad I made the effort 🙂
Oh,and look how much space we gave the riders #properfans 😉
