Just reading this article and trying to understand how people can become so institutionalised to think this is normal and acceptable behaviour.

And the way the Local Authority appear to be saying that they've followed their rules/guidance when dealing with it so it's ok.

Boils my piss, those poor kids need additional help and support and they're getting the shit kicked out of them and mentally tortured.

Sorry just needed to vent.

Holy shit, opened this thread expecting the use of the word "torture" to be out of place but yeah, that is horrific and the fact that the people involved still work there... wow

Absolutely shocking - as a parent of such a child (but unable to attend school), I'd be happy to see how these individuals enjoyed the same treatment themselves.

That is horrendous. As others have said, how can some of them still work there?

Because this is the UK, people who abuse their position of power are protected.

My son will be joining a school which happens to have one of those rooms!

It's next door to a well lit alternative and they say the kids can choose which room to go in to help calm them. If I get a hint of any of this behaviour I'll be making it very well known, my lad wouldn't stand for it anyway.
