Any New Mills locals know if this is open yet? I've been avoiding it as was closed the last few times I've tried to use it.

You're welcome. It took long enough - there was a drainpipe opening onto it which was supposed to just deal with run-off water, but had somehow been contaminated with raw sewage which was running onto the Walkway. Really unpleasant.
The area further along which was closed by rockfall about four years ago is still fenced off. There are apparently plans to install a new bridge to bypass the area and make it useable, but that's taken two years not to happen so far. Don't hold your breath is my advice.
Yeah I heard about the sewage issue, but wasnt 100% convinced it was legit. If it was then that grim as... and I guess only found due to the condition of the drain pipe. 🤢🤮
Not been round the rock fall area as tended to always come in from off the canal and past the Archamedies screw. Be interesting if they ever get another bridge installed. Bigger issue must be the houses et .. above?
The sewage thing was definitely real. I turned round on a run because I didn't want to run through it. Pretty disgusting.
I think the problem with rockfall is more small to medium blocks falling off rather than outright catastrophic collapse. They had specialists in to look at it when it first happened, lots of trees removed, so presumably they decided it was safe. But no, I wouldn't choose to live on the cliff edge.
