Torquay Palms cut down, presumably to improve the view from a local hotel window?

Ah, but at least you can see the sea! It's over there between the land and the sky.

First Hadrian's Wall gap tree, now Torquay palms.

What's next, Sherwood to make way for a new power line?

^^^ That’s all well and good but where will the wildebeest graze in while the work is going on!

Makes a change from arson, which is the normal way of removing something for redevelopment in Torbay

It was on the BBC 6 O clock news. The council had told people about it in 2019 but COVID and other stuff got in the way. They should have been clearer that they were doing it now, but people had been consulted. They are putting in more trees than they cut down eventually, but possibly not Palm trees I think they said. They acknowledged it would look bad for a while, but as usual there are always angry residents getting the wrong end of the stick or moaning as it is their full time job.

I’m surprised Oldway Mansion or the Pavillion hasn’t succumbed to fire as yet . Might help them pull their finger out and do something about them then
