.. For now anyway.

Decent game for once, if a wee bit nerve wracking.

Dry your eyes Smee, the Redmen did their best.

Did you see Lucas got a one match ban for his red card midweek? Liverpool have appealed to the FA, want it increased to three.

Talk about leaving it late! Mind, I reckon Kuyt's disallowed one was kosher; He looked to be in line with the last defender, as the ball was played. Ah well. Justice served. No way did Portsmouth deserve to win that one.

Very odd free kick in the box! I was thinking it was a penalty, but of course it's not, in that situation. Indirect free kick, I think.

I wasn't happy with the way they scored just after our substitutions. Like Liverpool lost their concentration, both times.

I think Benitez' tactics were ok, actually. He kept his best strikers on the bench; Torres has to be protected now. And Liverpool played ok until the subs; just din't have the killer edge. But it's about conserving energy, and nicking wins, from now on.

5 points clear of Cheatski now; I don't think they can realistically challenge now, they just don't seem to have the spirit for it. Arse are pretty much out of it, and I really can't see Villa going all the way, but there's still plenty of games left.

I'm rooting for West Ham tomorrow! They seem to have hit a bit of form, but it is a big ask, really. Let's hope Manure have an off day. And i can't see the Arse getting anything much from WHL.

Got to keep believing...

LOL!

Mind, he played pretty well in quite a few games, tbh.

Babel looked quick tonight, but wtf did he not use his left foot to tap that in?

Good luck to the Bitters in t''Cup.

You're lucky it din't go to penalties...

Just come down off the ceiling, Jesus that was close. Still thinks Rafa's team selection is dodgy but we will see at the end of the season. Come on West Ham too!

correct once in how many seasons is that then?
To be fair the only real difference between the two sides is we have more match winners than you and when we play badly we are more likely to win.
Next season though may be interesting I think Chelsea and Arsenal are a spent force but Liverpool and Villa are on the rise

To be honest, to be pushing for the title, with the squad we've got, is pretty bloody good! Manure and Cheatski have several £20-30 million + players, we have 2. I mean, Manure have Rio (£29m), Rooney (£25?m), Berbatov (£30m), and Cheatiano is valued at silly money, along with Tevez, who has to be worth at least £20m, then you've got yer Giggs and Scholes, who would be pushing £20-30m in their prime, at today's prices, and a host of other players worth £10m+. As for Cheatski, well. Just silly, really.

Rudeboy - what about Alonso and Mascherano? Our squad isn't as inexpensive as some people may think.

Also, how much for Reina?

Hmm, would Masher and Alonso fetch £20m+? Arse were planning to spend only £15 on Alonso.Mind, Masher did cost us £17m or so, I think. Reina? Well, he's not even Spain's No1 keeper, and is he as good as Cech, Buffon, VDS? I dunno. He's quite young still, so maybe he will become one of the World's best.

Robbie Keane aside, I think the squad has been assembled quite shrewdly. Riera has been a surprise, I have to say. Money well spent there. and Babel, well, he's still young, so hopefully will improve. He does have flashes of brilliance, just we don't see it game n game out. Nabil El Zhar is one to watch, I think. NGog looks a bit nervy, to me. Hopefully he'll settle down, as well.

I think Benitez is doing as well as he can, with what he's got. He's a top manager, no mistake.

Junkyard - that figure wont include any fee for Tevez or Keane leaving... So in reality the difference will be closer to £100million... Riera was nothing like £12m either.

Oh - their information is sourced from the Daily Mail too.

BTW - it makes me cringe when Gerrard falls over - just like he did in the 2005 Champions League Final.

Gerrard? Dive? Never! 😉

Show me an attacking player that doesn't go to ground easily. **** me, a Manure fan speaking about Gerrard? Cheeze! I remember Mark Hughes used to do it every week! As for Cheatiano... 😯

Smee; 2005 CL final; Gattuso tripped him. Anyway; we should've had a penalty 1st half for handball. Justice.

Junkyard; I can't believe you're criticising Gerrard for 'diving', when your show pony does worse, every week!

PS Manure's wages bill eclipses Liverpool's by far.

Rudeboy - Gattuso hardly touched him, he went down in instalments when he could have just buried the thing.

It used to be a contact sport you know....

It used to be a contact sport you know....

And players used to stub their ciggies out on the touchline, then go and drink 12 pints after the game. And there was less skill involved. Games were a lot slower paced....

Gattuso did make the slightest of contact, enough to unbalance SG, and he went down.

If we're talking about underhand tactics; considering AC Milan were involved in match-fixing, they can hardly claim the moral high ground! As I said, 1st half denied penalty (they then went up the other end and scored), so justice was done. What was that earlier on in the season, where Cheatiano dived, and a player got sent off? Even the ref apologised afterwards!

Anyway...

Shut up you traitor!!! 😈 I've just been watching the DVD (Yes,the 2005 Champions League Final DVD, Bitters), and Gattuso clips his left foot.

Ah, things usually balance out over a season, anyway. Refs remember diving and play acting, and then don't award legit claims the next time they're in charge.

I'm not a traitor, just don't like the way the game is ruined by playacting.

It's not being 'ruined' by play acting! If anything, modern TV technology makes it harder to get away with it. Diving is more easily spotted. It's always gone on!

Of course, it could be all those 'foreigners', corrupting our game...

sorry....do some liverpool fans really think they're in with a chance of winning a trophy this season? pmsl..

Refs remember diving and play acting, and then don't award legit claims the next time they're in charge.
funny, this never seems to apply to Gerrard.
Someone that skilled shouldn't have to resort to the number of dives he does or the number of tackles he 'tries to pull out of'. And then he unwinds after games by hitting DJs in the mouth with bottles.allegedly.
Nice chap.

Oh behave yourself!

Actually, yes, I think Liverpool fans do think they are in with a chance of winning a trophy this season. I think they do pretty much every season. A club with 40 major trophies should expect to be in the hunt.

Ah, I see. Mental issues. Possibly explains their behaviour where it comes to throwing cups of sh1t into family enclosures, stealing tickets from children, and so on.

I'm not, but I wouldn't be surprised if this info had been in there too, it was in most other forms of the media. Perhaps scousers boycott all news sources, as they do with the Sun?

All this 'cause you beat a team that will probably be relegated this year, by 1 goal in the dying seconds, past one of the leakiest defenses in the league?

You think that's a league winning performance?
