7.8/10.

Even the Rory Reid/celeb bit was good.

It's a great series so far, lets hope they can continue this into the future.

That was the best SIARFC segment of this series; Tinie Tempah was a great guest, but looked mighty p***sed off with his time 😆

Aside from that, the rest of the show never quite sustained the excitement levels generated by the opening Bugatti segment, but it was still very entertaining.

Does anyone else think they're following this thread and adjusting the content of the show each time? It feels like it 😆

Has it been mentioned that Colin Furze is busy building a 600cc 100bhp three-wheel dodgem for the Stig to drive?

😀

Something I'd noticed on last weeks show when MLB was testing that Aston Martin - whilst I have no love for Clarkson, when he says "this might be the best car that <insert car maker name here> have ever made" then there's a fair chance he's tried most of them and has that experience to state that. MLB? Nah, how can he make that assertion?

But generally all good fun and entertaining. Exactly what TGT isn't (apart form the first episode with the Porsche, laFerrari and McLaren).

Pretty sure Chris Harris rides a mtb, I recall a video with him having a bike in the back of a Ferrari, so you could be right! Was another decent one for me last night.

Nah, how can he make that assertion?

He's a multi-millionaire petrol-head. Whilst I reckon he won't have driven as many different cars as a moto-journo like Clarkson, he'll probably have driven a lot more than a regular Joe*

I imagine the comments in the main are pretty universal across many different fora/forums/whatever way they get their feedback. This is a pretty broad cross section of the middle class male so pretty core audience for TG I'd imagine. I daresay the Pistonheads Topgear is Back thread looks very similar in tone. Not that I can be bothered to look as it's often full of objectionable car snobs.

Chris Hoy is the guest this week apparently. It will be interesting to see what his time is considering his "hobby".

Watched the current one last night it was great fun again. Chris Harris was very good in the Bugatti bit he needs to transfer that style to the studio.

There's a feature on King of The Hammers on this weeks show apparently with Rob Butler and Jim Marsden coaching the Top Gear Presenters George Lewis and Rory Reid in a head to head off-Road Race, should be a good laugh, wonder what ultra 4 toys they'll be let loose in! 😀

I just watched my first 2 mins of this series - hate to say without Clarkson but it seemed a bit lifeless and cringey. Tarbet than just cringey with.

Not really enthused with it either.

Chris and Rory - for all their knowledge, skill and enthusiasm - have no charisma in the studio. The scripting seems even more staged than before. And as for including EJ ... not for me.

Enjoyed the Hammers piece - probably helped by messing around with a Traxxas Summit with monkey jnr!

All in all it's fun in parts but not very likeable.

Also, I NEED one of those trucks.

Obviously all the car segments are great, and individually the presenters are ok, I'm not including EJ in that...but it still feels a bit forced when they're all together.

Best show yet! I quite enjoyed the EJ piss take, they treated him like an annoying little brother!
Chris Harris is emerging as my favourite presenter closely followed by Le Blanc.

I think the presenting is poor. The conversation rarely flows and there are so many silences and awkward gaps. It's painful.

Really enjoyed last nights show. I've watched the King of Hammers stuff for the past few years so would good to see a TV show cover it. Harris is ace, as is Joey and I'm warming to Rory. The electric drift car where they're all laughing had me properly lol'ing

I agree that some of the dialogue is tricky (and Eddie J is awful) and I still watch some bits on fast forward but the thing that's new, and that I really like, is that they do seem to be genuinely having fun - and that's quite infectious.

Blah, this weeks was a bit blah di blah.

Never been a huge fan of EJ, glad to see it reinforced. But the 4x4 madness that was the race, quite exciting.
SIARPC was a bit bland, everyone knows Chris can drive a bit but it was nice to hear he's continuing racing, last years Le Mans was fabulous.

But hey.

I'm not convinced Hoy should be considered legit for siarfc? Fine line but surely he is a racing driver who used to ride bikes now? Small miracle if his time ever gets beaten by another 'star'.

Back in January I had my VW caddy up at Falkland performance in Glenrothes for a remap and rolling road session but I had to wait my turn as they had an RS6 in for a stage 1 tune, it gave 675bhp and over 900nm of torque on the rolling road, the sound it made on full gas made my tinkle fizz and for a large estate car it launched up the industrial estate road like a jet from an aircraft carrier catapult.

Humph....I bet it doesn't get 65mpg/750 miles out of a tank of fuel though 😉

Probably not far off what you get from a C63 AMG - about 17/gallon on a good day. Then there's the £1000 to replace a set of tyres, three sets during the two year lease I bloke I was talking to got.

Be interesting to see how he compares to Harris, Sabine or some other pro racers though, hopefully they will have a separate racers wall like they had the F1 one on old TG

Just got back from an absolutely wonderful weekend - involving tent, two swimming pools, bike, beautiful weather and a 4 yr old daughter loving all of the above. Thought that TopGear would round off the weekend beautifully. SOOOOOO peed off to switch on and find Golf. Effing golf! FFS - sure ruin a walk if you like, but why oh why etc - where's points of view these days when you need to rant?

last day of one of the best events on the [s]sporting[/s] golf calender

I have a golf course at the end of my garden. The action I see there is not enough to keep my attention, despite the silly trousers.

Why not hide it on BBC4 or Sky to be found by those who really want to watch it?

Same here, sat down to watch TG and no recording, had to watch an episode of TGT instead that we're still working our way through.

It was the one with the Landrovers, it was a bag of toss. Much prefer the new Top Gear stuff over the Clarkson et al. Really badly staged 'calamities' and crap jokes you can see coming a mile off

Gutted - just sat down to watch top gear after a long Monday at work to find it wasn't on yesterday - golf instead. What the actual ****, who even watches golf? Grown men hitting a tiny ball as far away as they can, then trying to find it and knock it down a hole that's probably full of manky water.

Still nicely filmed, the team work well together and it is genuinely better than The Grand Tour.

It's found its feet now, after the "trying too hard" Chris Evans era.

A 5.0 litre V8, putting out 170bhp.

Still in the era where the US government had clamped down on muscle cars post early 70's. Look at the power in the 60's V8s from US and it was a different story. As it is now, with the extremes offering over 700bhp from a V8

Chris Harris went full Clarkson reviewing the Cayman - wah wah wah, it's a 4 pot, emissions are all stupid etc.

Jay Kay still an absolute tool despite be supposedly sober these days (I have my doubt)

But that's only two minor blips in an otherwise good show at the end of a good series.

Torpoodo worth the price of admission alone. 🙂

That Russian Shamen 8-wheeler? Bring on the lottery win! More practical than a restored Alvis Stalwart, and you could kip in the back with a decent mattress.
Great for hoiking out sad people stuck in the mud at festivals and the beach at Brean!
