1. Fargo.

Didn't make a point of watching any other series. Except maybe The Detectorists.

1. Fargo.

Not exactly terrestrial is it? I watched it but as a fan of the film it seemed like a bit of a needles (borderline tedious at times) retelling of basically the same story.

One of my main gripes with a lot of the big US shows is the needless padding and filler episodes they insist on making to fill out their schedules and milk advertising revenue. Fargo was very guilty of this, not to the extent of Breaking Bad or Walking Dead, but nearly. It could have been 5 episodes long and not suffered, but again, pointlessly retreading the same themes as the hugely superior film.

Only religiously watched Agents of SHIELD.

Her indoors got into Orange is the new black but that isn't terrestrial telly.

Channel 4?

Made by an American production company for an American network? It's just bought by C4.

In no particular order (and I'm going with shows commissioned by UK TV stations)

1. Inside No 9
2. Prey
3. Sherlock

If it were open to shows shown on British terrestrial TV in 2014 it'd be

1. Homeland series 4 (except the final episode)
2. Fargo
3. Sherlock

Ahh, so really it's a thread not for things broadcast on terrestrial telly as any normal person would think but a thread for homegrown stuff broadcast on terrestrial telly.

Game of Thrones. (Watched it on terrestrial Spanish TV, so it counts.)

Fargo was on Channel 4. I watched it there. I don't have... extra-terrestrial TV channels.

Inside No.9. Good shout. Forgot that was this year. Made a point of watching that, too.

1. The Adventure Show
2. Doctor Who
The latter was the worst series since the re-boot but those are the only things other than the News that I've watched.

The top three:
Utopia - series 2
Happy Valley
Fargo

An honourable mention
Toast of London - Brilliant stuff, Would be 4th on the list.
The fall - Was good right up to the hiding in the wardrobe scene which was too much like a French farce.
The Missing - Good job all round but could maybe have been 1 or 2 episodes shorter.
Agents of Shield - Utter nonsense, but its a fun bit of escapism.
Big Bang theory - Consistently funny and seemingly on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Watched much less terrestrial TV this year and even what we did watch we tended to record and playback when it was convenient. Watched a lot more streamed content from all sorts of sources.

james may's toy stories (not biased in any way 😉 )
top gear (just to make someone rant)
8 out of 10 cats does countdown (even though I can't stand the guy)

err that was about my entire TV watching of the year, so top 3 is well all of it. that's how **** telly has got.

1. Marvellous
2. TG Christmas challenge (but only because of the scenery!)
3. errr.. I don't think I actually watched anything else on UK tele this year. Having a German better half and a motorised Satellite dish means I find myself generally watching German "terrestrial TV" (as opposed to RTL, Sat1 etc) which is more to my taste (a bit less dummed down than normal English Language stuff)

german telly is pants. except RTL for F1 (although the blimin adverts are a pita), eurosport/zdf/ard (whichever one shows skiing). not really sure what you call "terrestrial" now, since mine just comes out of a socket in the wall.

Only Connect
Charlie Brooker's 2014 Wipe (or whatever it was called, on t'other night)
Stargazing Live

EDIT: Not trying to start an argument by voting for Stargazing Live, in case anyone intends to take issue with it's terrestrialness 😉

Able to receive the channels with an aerial. It's got nothing to do with how the cable enters your house of where the production company are based.
