Hi

Bit of an odd question I know, but does anyone know if you are allowed to swim in a wetsuit at Tooting bec lido, I want to head down there early and have tried ringing to ask but just get a recorded message.

Any further info from the STW hive mind?

Why wouldn't you be able to?

They're on Twitter, apparently. @tootingbeclido

Otherwise, the South London Swimming club (@slsclido) are based there and might know.

This info was brought to you by my London-savvy OH.

I've just done a search on the Outdoor Swimming Society Facebook group and apparently people swimming in wetsuits there are "...a common sight". A spot of light Googling also produces results suggesting that swimming in a wetsuit is OK there.

HTH.

All the proper swimmers swim in a wetsuit at Tooting Bec Lido.
The uninitiated wear a bikini/costume/trunks and shiver.
There are the swimming club members who, I believe, swim in bikinis/costume/trunks all year round but wearing a wetsuit will ensure you have an enjoyable swim.
I lived very near to there until about six months ago and, as you can probably tell, I miss it.
Hope you enjoy.
