As above I've decided to change my tool collection to one brand, rather than having various different chargers and batteries. So which to go for makita, dewalt, blue bosch, hitachi or milwaukee. All seem to be roughly the same price.
will be used daily so robustness and reliability would be good. I've decided on the 5.0ah batteries to semi future proof myself.
Dont want or need something like hilti or festool

Makita are one of the best tool but their batteries can be weak.
Dewalt are one of the worst pieces of carp ever made.
Bosch are Bosch.
Hitachi are made in the same factory as Makita.
Milwaukee own Dewalt. About as bulletproof as they come. Think Dewalt 15yrs ago before they started using cheap components.
A really good friend is the director of the largest importer of tools in the UK outside of the manufacturers.
If you walk into Screwfix and buy something - she sold it them.
Her advice - Milwaukee or Festool if its from a big hitter. Hilti if its direct.

Personally I'd go with Festool, but their battery powered tool range is more limited than the others.

Makita or Hitachi all the way for me.

Wouldn't touch Bosch* stuff with a bargepole. Poorly engineered stuff that's been trading on the brand strength and little else for far too long.

* Except the Quigo. Which is awesome.

Makita for me. Huge range of tools using the same battery and once you have a few you can pick up the bare units without batteries very cheaply.
