i'm looking for a tool chest so that i can keep everything in one place, i'm after drawers all the way down and on casters. It literally is an organiser so i don't need snap on or anything like that and want to spend around 150quid.

i'm keeping a watch on halfords to see if they do any black friday deals, however at the moment there's a 9 drawer US Tools cabinet on amazon for £140 that looks the best option. can anyone recommend anything else?

Quite happy with an SGS one I got a few years ago, 5 or 6 drawer roller cab from memory. Full size and solid with smooth drawers unlike the many 80% size imitations. Got one of the reduced size imitations at work and it's rubbish, especially the drawers, they occasionally jam which requires it having a good kicking to release again.

I got a red Halfords one on sale, and it's been good so far. Smooth drawers, rubber liners, etc.

halfords have or are in process of discontinuing the red range.

As good as they are.

Machine mart do compatibly priced ones for cheap on their vat free offer days

As above ball bearing slides only.

Yep, nothing wrong with the Halfords stuff, but as others have said, go for the ball-bearing slides, rather than friction slides.

I bought a de-badged Halfords 4-Drawer mid-cabinet from a clearance place on ebay last year for around £30 - the seller must sell off damaged returns, etc. as the cabinet was slightly dented, however it works perfectly.

I've also got a Snap-on top-box, which is superior in every way, but total over-kill for home use. I bought it secondhand around 15 years ago for £200 - its probably still worth the same or more today.

Got bought a sealey unit for a birthday a while ago.Three cabs high,  Two big drawers on the bottom unit for power tools, the rest standard size. Flip top lid is great and the overall quality is fantastic. Came with decent drawer liners. It's bright bloomin orange too (other colours are available).

Halfords are fine but SGS are better in my view...
