Thank Christ for the Bomb was genius.
Split was a masterpiece.
But for me Hogwash, and particularly 3744 James Road, was the soundtrack of my youth.
1972. I was 15...where the hell did it go?

😢 Saw them play at The Duchess in Leeds many moons ago, absolutely brilliant.

Sadly, I’m at an age now where this is just going to happen again and again. Which isn’t a happy thought. ☹️

I did see Groundhogs once, at Bristol Colston Hall. What amazed me was the curved wall of low silver amps with glowing green control markings behind the band - new-fangled solid-state amps, the future was right there in front of me! They were outstanding, when the words “Cherry Red…” were spoken the crowd went wild!

RIP Mr McPhee.
