What's being imbibed tonight since the supermarkets have now gone price-bonanza crazy?

Also, can anyone clarify if the "buy 3 for £20" crates of beer deals are now outlawed in Scotland...i'm anticipating a busy New Year.

Late enough to open one...?

I'd phrase that as "Early enough to get pissed the continental way". 🙂

I'll have my Landlord next time I see him, extortionist!

I can't drink any JD neat, but that's just me.

It is, however, very good. It's all about the cola really, shame there's no Fentiman's around.

Badgers Golden Glory followed by JD Honey or perhaps a drop of 18 years old Glenfiddich. I'm sure they all go with chinese! 🙂

finish work at 8, followed by urban night ride (if it's not totally lashing down) followed by Stella Artois and S&V crisps until I nod off sometime around 1.30 and then drag my arse to bed.
Love Friday night 🙂

Woodford Reserve is worth a go if you like a Bourbon. Tesco were doing it for £21 a couple of weeks ago.

cfinnimore -I've recently decided bourbon is the way ahead so working my way through them, Woodford Reserve is the fave so far with Makers Mark a close second. I'll add your recommendations to the ever growing list...

Maker's Mark is the best bourbon you can get before you start spending silly money, IMHbutexperiencedO.

Partagas Serie D no4

CFH .- What ABV is that Meantime IPA? Is it really in a 750ml 'Champagne' bottle?
Is it good? proper hoppy and Pale and smooth all at the same time ?

Been doing some product evaluation on a special we are brewing for the next 3 months . Its only 3.8% , but super hoppy and blonde.
First mouthful of the first pint gives you a ' Crikey ' this isnt right , then it mellows out and sweetens.

Red Chimay, this evening.

Needed to get some beer in for the weekend, and slightly disappointed to find I couldn't get 80/- (either Caledonian or Belhaven) in the supermarket...

7.4% and a full 750 of sublime IPA. Hoppy, rich and delicious but still very refreshing. Seek it out!

"developing flavour" beers are ace! I had a half the other day of a Mikkeler Black Tequila Speyside. Black imperial stout, 6 months in a tequila barrel then 6 in a Speyside whisky barrel. Wow. It just kept growing and developing.

CFH I was going to ask about your 'special reason' when I saw your first post. No movement yet? Go for a hot curry and a long walk, I think you both have to do it not just you.

Anyway I got my first bottle of scotch of the season today, a bottle of Black Grouse. I have two big bottles of Leffe to drink first. And also a curry maturing on the hob but Mrs Ache has fallen asleep on the sofa so no curry for a while if at all tonight.

Thanks! All under control, and all is well! More as and when, but suffice to say, when it happens, smoke and drink 'em if you've got 'em! 🙂

Into the bottom half of a bottle of Vergelegen Cab.Sauv./Merlot from [s]Safeway[/s] Morrisons at a bargainacious £3.73, thanks to a reduction and then -25% deal. Was £10.99 at Majestic (£8.99 if two or more)- a nice claret analogue with good depth & fruit. Yum!
