NOTW have already appealed, that being sisted (shelved) pending the outcome of the trial.
They just need to re-awaken that action, you'd think it's unlikely that TS would defend it (though I suppose he'll have a lot of free time on his hands and possibly little resources to lose) or that any Judge would rule against the NOTW.

A lawyer friend told me that because the NOTW appealed straight after the original case that the money wasnt paid out. However him being a lawyer Im not sure how much truth passes his lips 🙂
he never got the 200k due to the appeal. I think they then paid his best man 200k for the 'video' of his admission.

While the original NOTW story did contain a fact...... it was also full of lies, many of which they subsequently had to retract in court. The truth in the story on its own wasn't newsworthy, regardless of whether Sherridan is likable or not. So NOTW had to pepper a true story about his legal, consenting, if somewhat saucy leisure activities, which are nobody's business but his own, with lies about illegal activities in order to make the story 'in the public interest'.
As it stands there should never have been a courtcase for Sherridan to purger himself at, as there should have been no story.
So the NOTW got a result of some sort but justice hasn't been served in any sense, and nobody comes out of this well
