Seems plausible to me *except* why was anyone filming the lad in the yellow T-Shirt in the first place? It seems handheld not a shop CCTV. If they knew the todder was about to fall and they wanted to film it (!?) why not stand at a point where they could see upward?

Any of STW's experts confirm or debunk the vid?

Don't know but could it be a phone video of CCTV?

You can see the time stamp on the screen that's been filmed at one point, plus there's the moire pattern on the screen.

Thanks both, that's good enough for me and explains the weird camera angle.

What a sad and cynical society we have become when the first response to a truly uplifting story is to wonder whether or not it was fake .

1) It wasn't my first response.

2) Yup, some people like to check things. It's not a new thing.

Including the BBC who , I assume , are better equipped to check on the validity of a story than STW members .

Yup, and if the BBC had said, "This is CCTV footage filmed on a mobile" I'd not have bothered to check, but they didn't which made it looked iffy, so STW filled in the gaps instead. Plus, since it turned out to be genuine, I got to share a brilliant story and hopefully put smiles on a few faces. So win-win.

As plus one says, brilliant story, made my day.

Sorry outofbreath my comment was a reflection on society today and not aimed at you although I can see that it looked like that. We both think it's an uplifting story and that's how it should be .
