I am not the one that thinks it perfectly acceptable to spit on a complete stranger.

Oh FFS, Smee; try and understand the context of CFH's actions, please. Come on.

i'm sure CFH would be the first to admit that what he did probbly weren't the most sensible, or 'correct', and maybe he has let himself down a tiny bit, by allowing himself to get wound up. But his actions were those of someone angry at the mistreatment and abuse of another person, who, as it appears, had done nothing to provoke such a vile attack.

So, he did what came into his head. Seeing as how any saliva wooduv been heavily diluted by whatever beverage CFH had in his Camelback, I doubt his 'victim' would have been particularly at risk from infection.

Interestingly, the bloke in the car din't get out to remonstrate with Flashy, yet was 'brave' enough to spit at the woman cyclist. Sounds like a 'tough guy', eh?

Whilst 'acceptable' is, in this particular case, a difficult word to use, I reckon Flashy's actions can be defended. Which is why I'm doing so. Because I happen to support his behaviour, in this instance.

Flashy cooduv done a whole lot worse than soaking the bloke with a mouthful of drink.

IMO, the **** got off lightly.

And please; let's not resort to just abusing Smee. I don't think that's really any good. He has, after all, raised a fair point, and is entitled to have his opinion, and in fact, as regards spitting as being out of order, is actually right.

Rudeboy, and anyone else for that matter - describe circumstances where spitting at a stranger, other than where it is part of a greeting as it is in some cultures, where spitting at a stranger is acceptable. Then, more importantly explain why it is acceptable.

No, much better to try and have a reasoned discussion with him.

'cause as you can see, he's really up for it.

I would appear to be the only one that is wanting a reasoned discussion on it.

I give up.

I have tried, and I have failed.

I accept defeat.

Even I know when I'm beaten...

🙁

Rudeboy - you were always going to fail. There can be no justification for spitting at a complete stranger. None whatsoever.

No.

Because you are an intelligent person who chooses to act like an argumentative cock.

Why is taking the only reasoned defendable position regarded as being a cock?

Smee - your just looking for a fight. Re-read your posts & listen to the tone you use. Its aggresive & argumentative - you may well be intelligent but your debating style is combative & posturing.

You may find that works for you but I reckon a different approach might be better.

I wasn't aware that the written word had tone - the person reading it may put their own inferences on it - but that isn't my problem. My debating style is direct, nothing more nothing less.

YOU will need to gain some intelligence before you can have an intelligent debate with anyone.
