You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more

Got bored as the wife is at a running race, so made a little 3 sided bit of boxing for the back seats in the van, using scraps as I'm a horder of offcuts.

This one’s about the size of my palm - I’d forgotten to fill the feeding station plates up! Fortunately, the starlings drop so much stuff it’s unlikely to starve.
I did put down some calci worms while topping up the food plates…

Back on the big red bridge today.
A trip up the hoiset at the north end for a quick wee job on the north Queensferry  south cantilever.

crazy camera obscura effect from a gap in the Velux.

And now with added Jackdaw stood on the roof of next door’s barn

Crap photo, but I don't care, it was in the garden and I'm chuffed to bits to see one 😁

Tubeless leak mystery solved
Love dragonfly's, an insect that makes me feel like I'm a kid again!

Amazed at how well these came out! I was holding my phone in my left hand, the subject was sitting on the back of my right hand. I’ve cropped the image down in each case, but that’s all I’ve done. The last photo is a bit blurry, because that was taken a fraction of a second before it launched itself at my phone camera, but had no grip and bounced back onto my hand! 😁
Cute little guy. About 7-8mm long.

@TiRed - lucky you! I’ve never seen a stag beetle! I’m not sure they even exist in my neck of the woods.
Thinking about the zebra spider, it’s most likely a female, they’re the smart ones that hunt; the males are just there to breed with then be an aperitif.
Google lens says it's a small magpie moth...

A bit of context here - after a sudden need for a wee at 4am, I noticed some brilliant rainbow colours from a teardrop shaped crystal of my mum’s hanging in the landing window, but I couldn’t figure out what it was causing it. Turns out it was the moon! Not a great photo, after I went and got my phone, but I’m amazed at the brilliance of the colour.

@simondbarnes - definitely the right tool for the job! 👌🏻👍🏼

ODI England Vs NZ yesterday. England destroyed NZ.
Ballater from Heartbreak Ridge

Now, if I could just maintain this level of consistency, only a little to the left and down…

Lots of nice wispy cirrus about today…

Looking toward the 7 sisters

Some broken branches? 🤷🏼 This is the Bybrook, at Ford, not far from Chippenham, where my dad was born and grew up, and the same river that flows through Castle Combe. It signifies something I never, ever thought I’d see; there are beaver in the river, and there are tooth marks on those branches!

This is the church above, after Cromwell’s army burned the roof and used it for cannon practice, before setting sail from Bristol to Ireland. It was tastefully restored by the Victorians. The grave with the headstone in the foreground is where members of my family are buried.

A little more consistently central, but this is at 40yds, the previous one at 30yds. Tweaking my form, and my sights a bit, hopefully might show a bit more of an improvement. 🤞🏼

Viper berus, seen in Hamsterley this morning, on it's way to the count... ?
Imagine a large black snake that someone appeared to have ridden over and killed...
Because I can't post the photo

Orange sky at night, the neds have torched the recycling centre???

Semi-comatose bee I found on my front doorstep after taking the cloud photo, picked it up and put it on a flower out the back, which didn’t work, so mixed up some sugary water, which it’s drinking in the photo. After a while it revived and flew off - my good deed for the day. The squadron of bumblebees nesting just inside my garden shed need no such help.
(Not got the emoji issue sorted yet, then?)
I have loads of photos to post……when it gets fixed!
Some of my garden visitors:

It’s very happy scavenging the sunflower seeds from the fatballs the birds won’t eat.

This one popped up on Friendface memories today. I took this a year ago of TJ of this parish…
