All those who've got results by lambasting idiot companies on Twitter - share your tips pretty please.

I'm tweeting but is anyone listening?

Thanks. 🙂

I can't help but I am interested in the response as I am currently in a "disagreement" with nPower.

Don't stop. Make sure your tweet isn't @ them so everybody sees it. Abusive tweets ( with asterisks ) got me a before 12 delivery upgrade from DPD, new router from Virgin, twice and a £10 shopping voucher from Ocado. I find sarcasm particularly effective although it did get me blocked by the Met Office.

Oh you have my sympathy there, energy companies are sharks. Did you tweet?

I got a £10 voucher off B&Q for tweeting that their toilet seat buyer should be fed to a leopard.

You could try that approach.

matt - sounds as though you were extremely determined to get those results!

I've called the company in question 'useless' and I'm threatening Small Claims Court. Not sure whether they check their Twitter feed. 😐

Which power company is it?
Somehow I've got 2000 followers and quite a few joined in the abuse due to previous dealings with the same companies, 50 or so retweets tends to help!
The met office blocked me when I started a hashtag #bbqsummermya**e and started a spoof weather forecasting feed. ( I had a lot of time on my hands )

Lol and that is good!

matt - sounds as though you've plenty of experience with this. How do I alert Joe Public?

Don't put their @ name at the start of the tweet so it'll appear in the public time line instead of just a reply only seen by people following both of you.
eg. "Aren't @npower useless"
Rather than "@npower you're useless" etc
I usually start with "more shocking service from etc" then get increasingly sarcastic until they reply.

Hi, a few suggestions - if you use @thecompany at the start of the tweet you need to put a . infront, then it will be seen by all followers.
Also search for trending #tags that are associated with the company and it's brands.
Don't get abusive or insulting as you will lose followers.
Find out if there are any active campaigns against them and follow them too, retweet their tweets, reply to comments that you agree with about the company and make sure to #tag the company or issue. Also launch an offensive on multiple social media platforms and link them. Find blogs about the company or blog posts and comment, adding your @ or the #tag to your comment. This forum is brilliant for Search Engines - the BT thread I started here was seen by the company and they responded to my tweet within minutes. If I can offer any more help just shout, we work social media very heavily at work for our clients. Good luck.

Thanks Roger and yes I did see your thread, bloomin' well done to you for sticking with it! You have set the bar high 😆

I'm probably going to write a letter giving them 7 days to reply with failure to do so resulting in the Small Claims Court. I'm out of pocket by nearly £92.

Their Customer Service Manager won't return my calls, I've e-mailed the CEO as well as the Customer Service Department and I'm being ignored. Not been rude, just firm.
