Not a stealth add. Just looking for advice to sell a bike. Only sold one complete bike before and that was a very old cheap bike.

Other than a detailed description and photos are there any other tips to help it sell? It's on ebay, Facebook, and here.

Offer postage is the best advice imo.

I’ve previously sold multiple bikes through FB marketplace. Insist on cash or completed bank transfer. It’s a buyers market at the moment tho. You’ll probably need to price accordingly…

I'd prefer cash or bank transfer. If I did post, how do you avoid scammers saying it arrived damaged or parts missing etc?

I've sold a couple of quite specialist bikes (one an absolutely unique track bike, one a knackered but salvageable retro BMX) on ebay and absolutely insisted on meeting up in person. Both times it was at Manchester Velodrome actually. The track bike buyer had the "collect in person" bar code thing on his phone, the BMX buyer carefully counted out a wad of cash, clicked the "I've collected in person" and gave me positive feedback there and then. No issues at all with either of them, both buyers were 100% genuine - no attempt to beat the price down or haggle, both sales done in minutes.

Oh and my Dad's old recumbent which I sold at Manchester Piccadilly station - the buyer arrived on a train from Scotland, paid cash for the bike and boarded the next train back.

I wouldn't trust posting a bike - I'd simply make it clear in the advert that it was collection / delivery only and if necessary arrange to meet halfway in a public place - motorway services, railway station etc.

If you absolutely have to post it, take pictures / video at every stage of the packing.

Sold 2 quite specialist (rare and unusual anyway) frame and fork combos recently. The crucial thing was price, probably a bit lower than I wanted tbh.
Posted both - 1 by Paisleyfreight - perfect next day delivery
The other by Evri, was within their size limits so tried to save a bit of dosh, not worth it - got lost, had to do lots of chasing, very stressful. Luckily the buyer really wanted the frame and was very patient! Eventually it came back to me and I had to resend with Paisley. Arrived next day.
Both buyers happy and left good feedback. I think you can tell quite easily if your buyer is genuine.
