You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
A friend is really keen to get a Laura Trotting MTB from Halfords.
I'm sure I've read about ways of saving a bit of money on stuff from there but my Googlefoo is letting me down.
I know there is the 10% BC members (she's not currently a member but is considering it) discount but what else is there?
Could join the Toyota owner's club for 15% off.
Cycle to work scheme if her employer runs it (saves them NI too so a win on both sides)
They are £350 at the moment but the stock levels are running out, they only had large in stock a few days ago, then no stock, and now they only have mediums.
They are a bargain anyway. Bc will save you about £30, but they may well put the price back up as it seems they are flying out, or they might be end of line as they are saying 'final clearance, while stocks last'
You can bet the mtb2 will be about £500. And I'll bet they won't be so quick to discount them next time.
I'd just buy one. I did. They cocked my order up so it wasn't built up, but i was concerned about missing the deal so I bought it in a box.
It just required putting a wheel on, pumping the tyres up, fitting the seat post and the handle bars to the stem.
The gears and breaks were perfect, presumably they were set up in the factory.

Wow.. I have a Toyota...
Topcashback or quidco

Excludes bikes.
Ok, but you still get 10% off bikes and 15% off everything else you buy for a year. Also the membership fee is only £15.95.
Toyota discount is 10% off for complete bikes, 15% off for everything else. I signed up last year as I own a Toyota, the Halfords discount is the only real perk IMO.
Employee benefits at work? My work package lets my buy a reloadable gift card at a 15% discount then I can still use my BC membership for a further 10% off at the till.
Thanks guys.
It was actually a large she was thinking of as she's about 5'9"
Looks like they only have mediums left although they were only showing large in stock a couple of days ago. It's almost like they don't know what they've got to sell...
I did tell her to grab one before they disappeared!
I'd not heard of this brand, etc, so just checked it on the Halfords website.
Wow, thats a lot of bike for the money!
Find someone who's employer offers them a cash back type affair. For example I have a gift card which I can reload with 10% off and I then get another 10% off with my British cycling club membership. The reloadabke card even has a boost currently with 15% off. Cycling club is good value for the amount it saves you just in CRC alone.
Cycling UK membership (formally CTC) now gets you 10% off bike stuff at Halfords.
My GF has just bought one of those bikes on C2W, it's going to cost her something like £5 a week for a year. On paper looks a cracking bike for the money.
