I didn’t see the Big Night In thing but I did watch the video for Times Like These this morning. I love all the Foos versions of it so approached it expecting to be annoyed or appalled.
Actually really liked what they did.

Dave Grohl seemed to genuinely enjoy it.

That's good enough for me.

Enjoyed that, although prefer the Foos.

However, it did highlight how out of touch I am with pop culture, the only person I recognised was Dave Grohl... Love the sound of some of them though, and would like to hear more of their own work. I see there's a list of artists at the end, but that's not much help putting names to faces, other than googling then individually. Anyone know if there's a version with artist name subtitles??

...but I bet you could name every person on the "Band Aid/Feed the World" video 😉

Had the same thought last night and realised how my parents must've felt when I was watching TOTP.

Was it Mae West who said "if a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing slowly"?

Two boxes not ticked I'm afraid*.

(*Bar Sean Paul's little rap about masturbation. Actually I always like this sort of thing in spite of myself and all the serious faces, apart from Binman's little bit obviously.)

Of these collaborative efforts it is the the one that impressed me most since the BBC Perfect Day one.
I recoganised a few of the ladies: Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Sigrid, Paloma Faith (rocking the sequins and ironing board look). Ellie Goulding, Jesse Glynn and Mabel.
On the men's side: Christ Martin, Rag'n Bone Man, Sean Paul and Dave Grohl. Weren't there a couple of other Foos in there?
Mainly I like female vocalists and the blokes I listen to tend to be in bands rather than solo performers so I don't usually know what they look like. Also O tend to listen to music rather than watch videos - so I'm a bit out of touch.

Bet you'll recognise more of these performers if you're around 50.

At least Jess Glynn’s contribution was limited.

Really find her voice grating.

All of Biffy Clyro. Though the drummer didn't get to do much

Possibly the singer from Bastille?

Taylor Hawkins (the Foo Fighters drummer) is there right at the start tapping away on a tambourine with a picture of Prince in the shot behind his right shoulder, also in Ellie Gouldings first solo bit.

IIRC he's a bit of an MTB nut as well and used it too help with rehab.

It's a kind of originally a bit raucous song, that they've sung reeeaally slow, and made totes emosh like so many covers do...

Pretty bad imho.

😶
