Anyone know if there is such a thing that can be used to turn something off for a set amount of time? It's for a security camera in one room that I use most days and if I leave it on, all our phones keep buzzing away while I'm in there. Currently I just switch it off, but keep forgetting to switch it back on again.

So want a switch I can press when I go in the room that turns the power to the camera off for an hour.

I’ve a smart plug that has a timer function in its software, it’s a little more involved than pressing a button but it’s the work of seconds

Remote control plug of choice from fleabay or Amazon? With a simple remote to keep costs down or you can go "Posh" with a smart one with app etc.

If you're in the same space around the same time a simple mechanical plug might also be a cheap option, I have a raft of these around the house for various appliances, simple but work.

kasa or tapo plugs can do that, for the extra couple of quid over a chinese non-branded one its worthwhile

doesn't the app have a snooze function?

If you’re happy doing a bit of wiring then these smart relays are the best solution IMO

Unlike smart plugs once setup they aren’t dependent on your WiFi/Alexa/Chinese cloud servers to operate! (Although you can also toggle it manually with an app like a smart plug if you want)

Dont want anything linked to WiFi or apps. Just a simple button to press that turns the power off for an hour.

I can set it to snooze motion detection but it still records. Don't want it recording me on the turbo over winter.

I know you can get a gubbins that turns power on for a period, we've got one wired to the bathroom towel radiator. "Horstmann Electriswitch" or Electricsave or similar. The power of Google might throw up what you're looking for if you track one of those down, or speak to a shop that sells those?

yea smart plug would be the simplest solution.

Is there not a camera setting though?
