..I'm fortunate to have a spot where it wont piss the neighbours off where I can literally play and sing out loud anything i want from pet shop boys to anthrax.
If I'm on my own at home at the moment it is either a bit of Iron Maiden or Metallica. Next week possibly something else.
Also used in office to block out background noise when I'm trying to do something technical but on ear buds and hoping I'm not singing along.
If ever I was forced against my will to do Karaoke in order to survive I could nail this....
As a regular kareokeist, working in Southeast Asia, I soon learnt to differentiate between the songs I like and the songs I can actually sing. Perchy, that Hue and Cry number definitely falls into the more technical, appreciate but do not attempt, category. I doff my hat if you can pull it (the song) off.
My limit is more « We didn’t start the fire », Billy Joel.
Not on my own, with junior J ... @ the swings,we always sing Temptation by Heaven17 ..”higher and higher”
🙂
Currently learning a solo for our Christmas concert, plus about ten new pieces for various concerts in between, and I've got to learn the bass part of the Messiah before December. I've sung the whole thing before now, but that was as a treble before my voice broke, so at least 42 years ago!
I close the door of the mancave, and sing along to my Youtube playlist. Gotta love retirement. I suspect the neighbours prefer my singing to my guitar practice.
Listening to Private Passions on R3 just now. So it's going to be Kurt Weill's Alabama Song for the rest of today ("must have whisky or we will die").
Up Where We Belong by Joe Cocker/Jennifer Warnes. Singing both parts, obviously.
