Had to review the lifestyle. Lower back and hip skeletal problems mean that something has to go if I’m to stay fit enough for the late-in-life resumption of regular public drum battering.
The physio said to remember I’m now travelling around in a classic old car, not a new Range Rover.
So it’s a sad and reluctant farewell to mountain biking. It was fantastic fun, but the strength, endurance and athleticism needed, packed it’s bags and left awhile ago now... 😢
At least there’s this murky corner of a forum to lurk about in. 😃
Does that mean it's also time to find a new forum to hang out in?
Damn, beat me with the edit! Ah well.....
What about road biking?
Yep. Still keeping the road bike. Not the same fun level obvs but still getting me out there and exercised. 😃

I’m afraid I have to disagree. Say what you will about the existence of God, but denigrating road biking is a step too far.
Gravilla?
Well spotted, sir. 😎
It comes to many, not all succumb.
Enjoy the roadie.
Stay on here, keep posting.
No-one really cares if you have, or even ride, bikes anymore.
Hope the back sorta itself out or you manage the pain.
It’s time for a full sus electric fatbike you mean?
Nah. Even on a full-sus there’d be all that bouncing about to which my coccyx and left-side sacroiliac would take severe exception...
At least I’ll have more time to devote to my enthusiasm for directional speaker cable. 😉
Such a Shame
The Party's Over
Still, Life's What You Make It
I find Riding a rigid bike on the road more uncomfortable than a full sus on dirt.
Of course you could Prove Me Wrong!
