Rough outline of events
Currently in Cumbria since early last week.
We live in London which had been tier 2 until last Wednesday and has now gone from 3 to 4.

We’re here till the 26th, 2 x children 2 x adults, children hadn’t been in school for 3 weeks previously to travelling.
We all had tests last week as we’re part of a Covid trail, we carried out another test yesterday (Friday) posted out straight away, results should be back by Monday fully expected to be negative.

Here’s the snag - should we come back to London ? Or stay, we don’t know anyone here, we’re not mixing with anyone and we’re in the middle of no where. Just walking and taking it easy.

Both my children have full on Asd and ADHD and are calm when here, we’ve been coming here for 14 years and it’s calming for them.

We haven’t broken any tier rules, but now London is tier 4 where on earth do we stand ??
We don’t want to be rule breakers or think we’re better than anyone else.

Am I overthinking this ??

Yeah, probably. Main worry is moving new strain from T4 to other areas.

Technically we don’t have the new strain to pass on...

Stay there, if you can work then no benefit to travel.

Yup stay. Delay going back as long as possible. Sell house if needed no point going back down there

Stay. If you are already there then as far as I understand it there is no obligation to return. Rules are based on where you are not where you live. Tbh I'd be looking to extend for a week as you'd be wfh anyway!

And yes, sell your house and stay in Cumbria!

Only snag may be if owners decide that a change in the rules where you are now means they have to close before the end of your stay. But that is the only reason I can think of for you needing to leave.
