Hi

Does anyone use Thule Proride 598 with wingbars?

I bought the proride 2nd hand and they came with adapters (see link below).  Guide states these are for the square and aluminium bars.

I've ordered the fixings for the wingbars as per the guide, but can the adapters be used on the wingbars?  They appear to be less hassle and no cutting or the wingbar rubber strip,

I have 598s + wing bars

I'm not sure if the square bar adapters would go wide enough for the wing bars, or that the wing bars are engineered to take the crushing forces as opposed to the pulling through the track force. And they would look shit.

I was thinking that the clamps would not reach around, will stick with the fixings, they arrived today in the post so can finally get it on.

As above, not designed for the clamps and would look shit. I have 598's on wingbars (edge) and it was no hassle at all using the tracks and cutting the rubber to size was a doddle too (as long as you're leaving the bike carriers on there long-term otherwise it could be a hassle to switch them i.e. to carry ladders).

I am thinking of getting a roofbox, but this will only be used 2-3 times a year if that, so the bike racks will be on there long term, I'll just keep a hold of the cuts of rubber to put back in when roofbox is clamped on
