What do we think?

Too late; I've only gone and bought some. They're slightly more comfortable than the skinny jeans though. 😳

I seem to have aqcuired a pair from gap on impulse.

I now find I only own 'trail' type merrel trainers and they look duff so I've got to budget for some new footwear.

[they're not *really* skinny. And I'm 45. will I be laughed at by young people?]

I believe they are for hipster wannabees who have spent slightly too long on the ipie diet to fit in their sisters jeans.

I would have thought, and I don't really know what he's talking about, but wouldn't a nice pair of brown brogue style booties with an intricate yet fashionably correct lacing pattern be better suited, wouldn't you?

Jones Bootmakers? They love their shoe care, there. No amount of leather treatment will stop the soles coming off though.

this sort of thing;

(fully laced)

I think I've probably got far enough into my sartorial (or otherwise) choices for a public forum...

[edit] close d s - bit too 'tan' for my taste, though.

Much more acceptable - that's what I should be wearing now I have crested 40 rather than old school trainers 🙂

EDIT: not those bottom ones!

TBH I'm not sure if brown boots are the way forward, I'm still trying to get people to understand that black boots with a suit IS acceptable.

for the record, i can confirm I didn't think of darcy (or indeed any other STW keyboard warrior) wearing tight leg chinos and think 'spastic'. Partly because I realise that word is unacceptable [and i apologise], but mainly because it doesn't convey adequately what i really thought.

EDIT: Having read the posts, some of them are a bit cruel. 😐

Are these those things with that look like chinos but with an elasticated cuff round the ankle?
Usually worn with espadrilles?

If so then you look like a douche, but you knew that anyway right?

You mean these don't you?

[img] [/img]

"Mustard Drop Crotch Chinos"

I'm going to have to side with the style challenge majority on this board. They're wrong. On anyone. And those who do wear them are wrong un's. Wrong un's that go down West Street on a Saturday night. Send them back.

To be worn with loafers and no socks

They seem to be all the rage at teh local 6th form when i passed last week. Happily the fashion amongst the girls is for tiny hot pants (mainly denim) and knee socks

I nearly crashed

for the record, the brogue boots remind me of the collecting box.

Those chinos are far, far worse.
