Down there early August for a week. Any locals with tips for good mtb routes that are local and also any family stuff to do (mum, dad, 6yo twin boys) - preferably outdoors.

Seen ‘roaches’ vids and on Trailforks so that might give me
Mtb options.

Family walks, picnic sites, other outdoor places to
Visit be useful too.

Thanks

Post hols feedback for anyone searching in future.

Rudyard lake and mini railway a good couple of hours spent and kids enjoyed.

Blaze farm was ace. Free admission and while not a huge amount to see, the wee walk around seeing farm animals was good. Brilliant ice cream. And the pottery painting studio saved us from the rain.

MTB did a loop found on google. ‘Outbiking’ Peak District. Covering three shires head, Gradbach etc. TBH disappointed. An awful lot of tarmac and the off road was often sheep shit covered fields or double track. Fun and Singletrack few and far between. MAybe just spoilt up in the Highlands but hey-ho got me out and saw some new scenery. Only managed one day riding.

Ta for the tips.
