Or perhaps it would just show that men treat the sorry, tattered state of their underwear as a pretty insignificant issue, and so let things get to the point where eventually their women decide enough is enough, have a rant and go and buy them new ones.

Plus, don't all men hate normal clothes shopping? If I had someone to do it for me I'd let them.

well if it's true, I'm an odd ball.... 'coz I love my pants, and am very particular about their form and function. if I left it to my missus, then I'd be bloody uncomfortable.

it's gotta hold you well.
mustn't constrict.
mustn't don't let it all dangle - or there will be pain as it gets tangled.
must be nice wide comfy waist band.
leg seams must not cut in when walking or sitting
must keep it cool and breath well.

it's a bloomin military opperation hunting good pairs down... and once I find a good design, I buy in bulk!

I have worn pants like these thoughout my life. I have experimented with boxers and the tighter fitting shorts style jobbies ( in a futile 'follow the trend kind of way') but nothing compares for comfort and support to what others call 'briefs'. The lesson endeth.

I'm with MisterT on this one.

I'm currently a fan of Debenhams Trunks. They come in white and black (what else do you need?) and are made of a rather fine micro fibre to aid breathability during those unexpected bouts of exertion (chasing the dog after she's bolted after a Stag) with just enough cotton gussetry (settle down Jenkins!) to be comfortable. 'nad Nirvana 😯
