Have we done this yet?

https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/

Each time you refresh the page it creates a completely fake human face. Used by Chinese / Russian bots to make fake FB profiles look realistic.

Quite often you can spot odd artefacts in the their clothing, glasses or hair. Won't be long before that's fixed and they are genuinely indistinguishable from real people....

Yeah the most common one I noticed is odd ears, one earring or mismatched earrings.

But yeah 9/10 of those were spot on. Remarkable. I bet Alamy are shitting themselves.

Are the eyes too far apart on many of them?

Pretty scary though.

How do you know they are fake? Looks like genuine photos taken off social media.

Doesn't look cgi but looks like image manipulation/photoshop.

It pops up bottom left telling you the algorithm which created them, you're running it live...

That's not scary at all, oooh no.

Jesus AI is getting good. 2020's not over yet, still time for skynet.

Isn't this just a digital version of a photofit kit that's been around for decades?
After going through about 30 faces there's quiet a few similar ones that keep appearing.

A similar AI has been used for many other 'Things' that don't exist.

There is an index them here

I particularly like the artwork one, the horses and the MP.

Err, one!

Some of you are just too fussy.

I kept clicking hoping my own face would eventually appear just so I could scream in terror.

Out of 5 clicks 1,2 & 4 were attractive. First click looked like a young Alex Kingston.

That whooshing sound? That the point going right over your head! There’s a simple app being used on Telegraph, (IIRC), which is being used to create fake nude photos of women using avatar photos scraped from Fb, there’s a very creepy video of Putin and Kim Jong Un talking about how they’re fixing the US election, which is using AI created fakes of both of them.

Doesn’t look cgi but looks like image manipulation/photoshop.

Well, yes, it does, obviously, because it is image manipulation, or, rather it’s image creation, using nothing but intelligent machine learning; photoshop, on the other hand, requires real skill and human learning, and that, right there, is the real problem! AI-created images require little skill, just an app and access to lots of images, and let’s face it, (pun intended) there are millions all over the internet.
This much should be obvious to anyone who’s been paying attention to the tech news over the last couple of years.

Wow! This is the sort of thing we were expecting back when I was learning that new computer language Algol.

Now all we need are LCD face masks and all the money the Murder Dept of the Govt security services have spent on facial recognition is wasted, because we can generate a new face every minute or so.

Pretty good at the face bits but, but thankfully doesn't (yet) understand ears, glasses or hats.

And occasionally throws up a total body horror freakshow...

Like the one peeping over this nice lady's shoulder. Can I get a guarantee these people aren't real?

At about 4 I noticed the same eyes as the previous one but still incredible.
