I wouldn't leave my dog there but there might be "reasons", either way, it's not a reflection on the dog.😁

Turkey is unusual in that they don't have a catch and kill policy for strays.  There's a film about to hit the AppleTV in the near future.

See the trailer here

Yep, if he had owned a cat, it would have sneaked into his room and switched off his life support.

Good boy (or girl).

I met a lovely friendly Staffie on my ride today. Dogs are great, eh?

Saw it earlier on the Beeb.... we really don't deserve them do we. As Aldous Huxley said "To his dog, every man is Napoleon"

God I love my dog!

I'm a late convert to dog ownership; I was 50 when Dora came into my life, she's now 2 and a bit years old. Soppy thing to say maybe as I'm a happily married man with 2 excellent daughters, but I don't think I've ever loved anything the way I love this wee 7kg scrap of fur.

The biggest anxiety I have in my life is that one day I'm going to lose her. But as my eldest daughter days- Dad, we all lose everyone in the end, so why worry about it. She's right of course.

I like dogs more than people being honest. The only reason i don’t have a dog is the inevitable day where it’s no longer here...and i don’t want to have to face it.

Yeah can't say that I foresee myself dealing with 'that day' particularly well tbh....I'm hoping that the years that precede it tip the balance overall though.

Dogs are like Americans.

Individually, they can be lovely.

As Ricky Gervais said “be the person your dog thinks you are.”

I was once given some great advice, never trust anyone who doesn’t like dogs or horses. It was said with tongue firmly in cheek but it has turned out in my case to be mostly true.

It’s not just dogs! My cat comes and sits quietly with me if I’m upset or in pain with a migraine.

Is that a serious reply ? I can't imagine why that would stop you getting a dog .

You're a dog person because you have a strong need for the undying uncomplicated affection that comes from an animal you have trained to obey you?

As I always suspected about dog owners!

Don’t get me started on the affection parents have got for the little plague rats they drop on the world. 🙂

@grum Not all dogs that you train to obey you, then offer affection. I have had 2 that were well behaved but wouldn't pee on me if I were on fire! Those two thought Mrs Sandwich was god in our residence despite her having no real walking, feeding or training input.

My Dad also said this...

never trust anyone who doesn’t like dogs

...and I've NEVER found it to be wrong.

I would love to be a dog person. I like dogs.

However my local walking paths and verges are covered in dog shit. I do not like many dog owners. This is why I am no longer a dog person.

/edit - a word

This...

I do not like many dog owners

...does NOT preclude you from 'liking' dogs :o)

Dogs are cool but there are way too many of them around, and there's a significant chunk of their owners who are pretty annoying.

Dogs are like Americans.

Individually, they can be lovely.

...but collectively they can be duped into electing a dangerous populist who uses racism and the politics of division to further a destructive agenda?

If so, I believe you are thinking of cats.

You don't train them, they learn how to fit into your pack and actively enjoy working/operating/playing within it. Remember wolves give each other commands.

There is a lot of dog shit around at the moment though - and lots of chavs with aggressive dogs. That's a problem with dogs being too cheap and too easy to buy.

Thankfully aggressive dog-owners can't afford brand new cars eh, otherwise all of that aggression could spill out onto the roads!? But I did see someone in a white baseball cap, driving a BMW 3 Series rather aggressively. Make cars more expensive and difficult to buy!

I’ll get my Burberry Barbour TNF Patagonia...

(mourns TNF)
