After querying about comics for my lads the other week. Midlifecrisis has sent me a massive box of old Dandy and Beano. He didn't want the postage reimbursed, instead he suggested donating it to Sports Relief. It's just refreshing and awesome to see that you can encounter genuinely nice people.

The site is peaceful and tranquil, good karma

Top Karma all round. Long live STW community!
This thread is full of Win 😀
We've all been guilty of being dicks on here over the years, but this kind of thing goes on quietly in the background, and makes all the internet ****tery worth the aggro.
Sometimes it's nice to give old stuff away rather than sell for a few £££. Nice one MLC.

This place is quite special, there aren't many online forums and communities that are generally so peaceful and kind. I have been a member of several car/motorsport and bike related forums over the years and STW is the only one I have stuck with.
I told my girlfriend a bit back about a depression related thread a bit back where the response was amazing, and someone leaving their axle in the forest of dean, then another forumite going to get it and posting it back to them. She was genuinely shocked, and impressed. Those couple of examples are why I stay.

Not me.
But seriously, I have been absolutely amazed at the willingness I have encountered on here of complete strangers to act so selflessly and generously.
It is a good place indeed.

Agreed. Thanks to GJP for replying to my wanted ad for a specific headset spacer that he is sending me FOC. Cheers dude.
It's very very rare that a 'Like' button would be handy - this is one of those times.

This. Despite the fierce arguments that go on, I think that at the end of the day everyone would happily go for a ride and a beer together.
Group hugs 🙂
This story has touched me like none other.
I wonder whether it's something to do with understanding the pain involved in cycling that brings us together? I've very rarely bumped into another mtb'er on the trails who didn't seem a good egg.

This may have been a thread I started and it almost brought me to tears the kindness and help people offered. This place is awesome, there are some truly exceptional people on here.
The threads where people are crying out for help with issues in there life and the response and support they get is nothing short of awesome.
I've not owned a mountain bike for 6 years (changed to road bikes as they fit in with my young family better) but I always spend most of my internet time browsing through here.
Good vibes! 😀
I like it when you buy something from the classifieds and it arrives in good time, well packaged and with a little something extra thrown in just to be nice 🙂
bumps to top of page so it can float down again in the breeze of happiness
This is what initially interested me about here and has kept me as a member.
I have a trunk full of (used) goat porn if anyone's interested.
I just come here for the petty arguments, don't go making the place all lovey dovey !

Oh no you don't!
I'm a bit of a ####.
Sorry.
