Why? Just why would the others there not say something?
It's not for me but I gotta admire their balls.
Still sounds good
Still, slightly less dull than Pink Floyd.
Watching hoping to see somebody remove the sign from the wall behind them as they play.
Wow. Favourite moment is when the singer and bassist appear to be looking at each other to get their timing together, then both blow it completely (around 2m35s) Meanwhile, and throughout, the drummer remains stoically welded to his task while the others ignore him completely!!!!
Oh, and the solo is pure gold. "Yeah, I've learned it, sort of, but I'm going to forget which key I'm going to play it in!"
The cymbal was still reverberating by the time the guitarists had all unplugged and one had even left the stage. I guess they weren’t expecting many plaudits.
YouTube comments are great!
Wish you weren't here.
😂😂😂 That Europe one had me in stitches!
Its always a relief on these types of threads that video isn't my band.

Absolutely 😂 The 'singer' seems to be dictating the timing of the song with the bassist sort of following him. Then the centre guitarist 1/4 note later.
I want to be charitable. It's evident that they're all kinda new to this - E.g. the guitarist on stage right staring hard at his fretboard while playing cowboy chords. So they're probably just a bunch of dudes that have decided to get together and play some music. Which is laudable. It's just the lack of self-awareness that is so impressive.
I'm very glad YouTube wasn't around when I was in bands at school, though.
What video is that JonnyFellOff? Got a link?
Youtube comments are hysterical
"It was performed by a band at a local music store during a breast cancer awareness show" - to showcase that there are worse things than breast cancer?

I'm puzzled about why the bassist kept adding an extra beat, or was unable to play one note every 4 four beats. Did he learn it in 5/4 time? The joy when he put together a three note bass run was immense. I reckon he'd seen a bass for the first time the day before. As to that guitar solo - I'm never going to be embarrassed about trialling guitars in shops ever again if that sort of thing happens in public. :d
I couldn't bear to watch the whole vid but one thing occurred to me - the singer did not seem to have a monitor so that makes it difficult to sing in tune - like when you sing with headphones on. Or am I wrong?
doesn't excuse any of the rest of it tho
I enjoyed it exactly as much as I enjoy the original. In fact, more.
It feels like I'm being drawn back to this. The guitarist in front of the drummer has obviously learnt his chords very recently. He's struggling to place the B minor every time. See about 50s in, he takes about a beat and a half to finish getting his fingers in the right place, with two or three adjustments going on. When he takes his guitar off at the end I was half expecting him to throw it!

That's like me, now, with effing F

Bm is easier than F. And when he's been playing for a little while he will find a few dodges that avoid the barre, like simply sliding an Am shape up 2 frets. Funnily enough though you tend to find those dodges after you've sorted out barres.. 😀
Sung in the style of Shatner.
I'm impressed with anyone that managed to listen all the way though
and there's more

I managed 45 seconds!
Now, I really like Pink Floyd, and I have seen them in Bristol on the ‘Wish You Were Here’ tour.
However, I’ll be the first to admit that they didn’t really engage with the audience, they were actually pretty dull as a band back then, when it came to stage presence! Afterwards I went along to the then Colston Hall to meet my g/f, who’d gone to see Rory Gallagher with some 6th form classmates, nobody about outside, so I wandered in, and caught around half an hour of yer man finishing off a blistering set! 😁
to be fair to them it does take guts to play live in front of people (i have never done it because i would be rubbish/also the fear would be strong in my case stage fright etc).
