Over the last couple of weeks this forum has been behaving most oddly on my phone and tablet, both using Opera.

The left 18 "spaces" in this text box are "unclickable"...I can type in them but can't then click on any of the first 18 characters I've typed in any line.

I also can't click on any of the "fancy editor" buttons to the left of the bullet point icon.

Another thing I noticed is that it only displays the first image per page in a thread...so on then happy dogs thread it only shows the first dog until you go to page 2.

All very odd, it works fine in Chrome but I like Opera (i know it's a bit niche)

Any techies know why it would be ok in one browser not another?

Cross browser issues have always been a problem in development. I'd say it's quite rare now... Unless you use Opera.

I use Opera on mobile pretty much exclusivley, (pixel phone, and iPAD) as the text re-flow is an amazing feature for pinch-zoom on forums, etc.

It also has onboard ad-blocking and VPN, but we're not allowed to talk about that in public, but it's an essential feature!

I also have chrome and firefox installed for the odd occasion.

Opera does render websites a bit 'interestingly' on occasion though, as most webdevs insure compatablty with things like Edge, Chrome and safari before looking at other, less popular browsers... have you tried zooming out, and back in again?

Also make sure your phone is up to date with OS updates, and the browser is up to date.

It’s been performing really badly for the past week. Pages taking 10-15 seconds to load, formatting all over the place, random font changes, loads of issues.
Same on both laptop and mobile.

Count yourself lucky, it doesn't work at all in Mosaic 🙁

I just find the 18 "spaces" being unclickable a really really odd bug.

Thinking about it, it's been since the fancy editor buttons disappeared for a few days

To be fair, the STW forum is pretty 'special' at times, so I really wouldn't read too much into it if it's just this website, rather than a larger issue with Opera.

It is just this forum, thankfully.

Well that's nothing new, on my PC, an i5 13600k with 32gb of 6000mhz ram using firefox as a browser, STW forum will often take so long to refesh I can check out a new article on another website in another tab tab whilst waiting for the STW tab to load/refresh.

I have the same issue as above patiently waiting for a page to load on safari/ipad. Can take up to a minute for each action and it’s a ****ing joke if I’m honest.

Had a similar issue on another forum (ASR) and the owner tracked the issue down to a routing issue and sorted it within a couple hours.

Images not loading for me either via Opera. Looks like it's related to images stored as STW images. Flikr ones for example appear to work.
