It's a Ledaig. Pronounced 'Lechig' for the heathans. Very nice it is too. Sharp and peppery, no water or ice mind.

What about yourself?

A tasty Rioja from Lidl. Unfortunately the bottle is now empty and I've got a 2.5k swim in the morning. …

Thanks to a quick incursion into my local Tescos for some apples t'night i happened to find myself in the alcohol aisle and chanced upon a Glenfiddich 15yr old Solera reserve for £30 (£7 off) which thanks to the sherry and bourbon casks has put me right into the xmas mentality, fruitcake, spices, xmas pudding flavours and i'm onto my third large helping....burp!....- obviously with a touch of room temp filtered water to aid the dispersion of flavour and aroma as i swill my rather large tumbler in front of the open stove....malt whisky, medjool dayes with a lovely caramel flavour, music, a good book and the ipad on the side for minor distractions....ahh bliss indeed.

You drink what you like mate! When I drank coffee with milk I used to love a Laphroig flat white.

Their cigar malt is outstanding, i've tried many others but there is something special about this bottling that is hard to find elsewhere - the distillery has had a very troubling time over the past 30 years and it's utterly shameful the way these scottish national treasures are bought and sold on the open market to the highest bidder, i dunno what/who owns it now but i hope they have some kind of continuity in their future to look forward to.

I dunno if it's generally available but i recently got given a bottle of Bruichladdich Sherry Classic and it is sumptious in drinking, very big mouthful of spice and fruit flavours with only the barest hint of the fabled islay peat on the aftertaste.

I managed to get my dad a bottle of Ardbeg Corryvreckan reserve at auction which is apt as he first met my mother whilst in his fishing boat off the coast of Jura in 1971, she got into difficulty sailing/messing about across the Corryvreckan area back in the early 70's, he (sort of) rescued/escorted her back into Crinan and the rest is history so to speak (here i iam) so i hope they'll enjoy it for a xmas treat.

Hope i'll enjoy it as well 😀

I do like to experiment 😉 Got a Wasmunds barrel that I first used to age their own spirit, then next was vodka, now I mess around ageing different malts, can make for some interesting results! And that sounds interesting; 😀
