You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
A bunch of Dutch drone manufacturers have created an FPV drone that can follow an F1 car for a complete lap, at top speed around 200mph. The noise the damn thing makes is terrifying, and they filmed Verstappen in the latest Red Bull car doing a lap of Silverstone, albeit in the rain; it did show how sketchy it was under those conditions, though.

When I'M in charge of F1 the fastest qualifier will be made to flip a coin before the race. Call it wrong and the grid is reversed. That'll liven up the processional bore fest of a sport. (Sorry F1 fans)
Interested to see it's Dutch Drone Gods. Aren't they the ones who did the drones following down the urban downhill and Hardline courses?
Direct link to video, it's very cool...

Maybe if you've drunk the F1/Redbull advertorial
should provide fantastic footage of its self decapitating a Marshall.

Bend me over and insert your penis into my rectum sideways.... Was that boring or what?
Why do F1 drivers come across as lacking any personality?
Banger racing down at Arena Essex (RIP) was more exciting....

Do they? I don’t watch it often enough to really know, I was just really impressed with the drone technology and how clear the footage was at those speeds, especially considering it was their first attempt.
That’s partly why I didn’t post it into the larger F1 thread.
I’d like to see footage of a lap of the Bathurst circuit in Australia, especially of the electric Ford Supervan using that drone.
Cool !

There's such a difference between the quickest few cars and the rest that this just delays the inevitable. Teams are already happy to take what looks like a massive grid penalty when they use too many motors, or whatever, and still end up lapping the rest of the field.
I'm not a fan of F1 and I hated the scripted patter on that video but the drone view of the car going round in the wet and losing grip several times was spectacular, really worth a watch
I'm not an F1 fan either but the engineering and tech' in both objects (drone and F1 car) fascinate me.
I enjoyed the video, Thanks :o)

Is that meant to be interesting titbit of trivia or is it meant to make it more interesting? Motorsport is one of those things thats great if you're taking part but boring as if you're watching. A bit like mountain biking.
That wet lap was awesome. Skip straight to that if you've not watched it yet.
Not a F1 fan but like all the tech. I think you are right - it 'could' make it better to watch...but probably won't (😉). It is like most other sports, very dull to watch and much better to do (although I've never done it!).
